Northampton garage rock duo Fountain return with the explosive new single ‘Itch’, offering another taste of the anticipated upcoming EP ‘Talking To Ghosts’ (November 15th). Coupled with the announcement of the band’s upcoming UK headline tour, the new single highlights the bands ability to craft driven, high-octane and yet commercially attuned music.
Produced by acclaimed mixing engineer Lee Russell, ‘Itch’ showcases the tight guitar work, and intoxicating sense of energy which stylises Fountain’s sound. Topping the punching drums and distorted guitar tones with a melodic and considered lead vocal, the track balances its rock tendencies with an accessible indie edge.
Penned by lead vocalist Jordan Noon during his teenage years and later revived as a tribute to the carefree intensity of young love. Jordan reflects, “‘Itch’ was partially written at a time when responsibility was a foreign concept. It’s a reflection on love in its purest, rawest form.”
Formed in 2023, Fountain has rapidly captured the attention of both fans and industry professionals alike. Their debut headline show sold out in advance, and their first summer festival performances in 2024 made waves. Already featured as BBC Introducing’s Track of the Week and played on BBC Radio 6, the band has quickly cemented themselves as one to watch ahead of their upcoming debut EP.
