Argentina and Switzerland-based artist AKIRA has released his highly anticipated debut solo album Niños del Bosque (“Children of the Forest”). For fans of Ilan Amores, Los Espíritus, Hermanos Gutiérrez, Damas Gratis, and Los Pibes Chorros, this record is a bold and soul-stirring exploration of Latin American heritage, spiritual resistance, and modern psychedelic soundscapes.

Rooted in Cumbia, Salsa, Bachata, and the timeless soul of the Latin diaspora, Niños del Bosque is more than an album—it’s an invitation to enter a living, breathing world. A world where rhythms rebel, voices echo through the forest, and music becomes both refuge and resistance.

Inspired by the mythic spirit like Studio Ghibli’s Princess Mononoke and grounded in real-world love and loss, this album merges reverberated vocals, cinematic guitar textures, and deep Latin rhythms to craft something entirely new: Psychedelic Cumbia—a sound that honours the past while carving a new path forward.

Through his music, he wants to bring back a revolutionary spirit that connects, empowers, and moves people. “Everyone who listens to this music automatically becomes a Niña/Niño del Bosque,” says AKIRA.

Argentina & Switzerland-based artist Born in Zurich to an Argentinian father and Swiss-French mother, AKIRA grew up multilingually, steeped in music from an early age. Influenced by legends like Prince, Diego El Cigala, Bob Marley, and Carlos Gardel, he forged his own sonic identity—melding traditional Latin genres with rock, dub, and urban styles.
