The Wattles Share Poignant New Track ‘The Wrong Idea’: Female-led indie band The Wattles are a compelling four-piece that hope to empower others through climatic indie rock. The Australiana band speaks honestly on issues of equality, environmental chaos and relationships. Now the four-piece return with the poignant single ‘The Wrong Idea’.
Written by lead singer Lucy after a period of reflection during the consent awareness movement in Australia and overseas, the track faces important themes head on through stark vocals, moving lyrics and a brooding soundscape. The intensity behind the track was brought to life by sound engineer and producer Lee McDonald.
Speaking on the meaning behind ‘The Wrong Idea’, the band share:
“This is a really important song to us and our community. The Wrong Idea was cathartic to write, terrifying to first perform but is now a chorus for all that resonate. I hope this track comforts, validates and empowers people and sends a message that things need to change.”
