About Yana Toma
Born to parents of Albanian descent, Yana came to England at the age of eight, barely able to understand or speak a word of English. She was introduced to music through her mother’s love for classical music, leading Yana to immerse herself in the influences of legends such as Marilyn Monroe, Nina Simone, Beyonce, Adele, Amy Winehouse and more, using this music to develop her singing style in tangent with the challenges of a new language.
Having participated in many nationwide singing competitions, and gaining songwriting credits on albums for the likes of Krept and Konan and Ghetts, Yana has achieved recognition and success amongst her peers and well known music industry executives. She’s worked alongside a number of respected producers and writers such as Rob Holladay, J Warner and Blinkie to name a few.
