In an exclusive zoom interview with Spinex Music, multi-talented New Orleans rapper Neno Calvin sat down to talk about his musical career with our USA rep Antwon Guidry Lamar, a sound engineer and record producer per excellence. Neno Calvin has been active since the late 2000s and started releasing mixtapes in 2011. Calvin reached a wider audience in 2016 when he released his album “Regrets & Progression” and was featured on the Birdman tracks “Ms. Gladys” and “Fuk Em.”
At the age of 12 Neno Calvin, recorded his first song as he joined a local group that regularly performed around the neighborhood. His musical craft was inspired by the likes of Juvenile, Solja Slim, LilWayne to DMX, and Eve. His “Tuesday Freestyle” caught the attention of Cash Money Records Co-Founder and hip-hop legend Bryan ‘Birdman’ Williams, who later signed Neno Calvin to Cash Money record. In 2019, he was crowned “Best rapper in New Orleans,” by the fader.
