London-based singer, songwriter, and guitarist Fiona Amaka has released her new single Honesty (Psalm 139), a folk and alt-country-inspired track that is already connecting with listeners on Spotify and across social media. The song blends Fiona’s rich, soulful vocals with the signature slide guitar of Andy Zanini, creating a warm and reflective sound that appeals to both Christian and non-Christian audiences.
Fiona first wrote the song several years ago with a blues-based melody, but this spring it resurfaced in her mind with a brighter and more hopeful tone. She began performing it in her church before realizing it was a song that could resonate much more widely. With vocal production from Eric Sanicola in Los Angeles, Honesty (Psalm 139) carries both intimacy and light, offering space for listeners to reflect on faith, life, and their own personal journeys.
“Psalm 139 is about the depth of God’s one-on-one relationship with us when we open ourselves to Him,” Fiona shares. “I wanted the music to carry that intimacy but also feel uplifting.”
The new single follows the release of No Daylight earlier this year, a soulful indie-rock track that explored the pain of betrayal, and Justified in 2024, which introduced a more ambient and atmospheric side to her sound. Fiona’s songwriting consistently draws from real life, with past songs covering themes of love, resilience, neurodiversity, social exclusion, and surviving betrayal. Honesty (Psalm 139) marks her first step into the Christian songwriting space, expanding her artistic voice even further.
It has already been a busy year for Fiona. With her band, she recently performed at the Camden Weekender Festival, and she will continue playing shows around London throughout the year. She is also preparing to travel to Italy this October for a solo performance at the Primo Passo per Sognare Festival, where she will represent her music to an international audience.
With influences ranging from Stevie Nicks to Smashing Pumpkins, Fiona has developed her own distinct “rock’n’soul” sound that mixes bluesy passion with indie grit. Honesty (Psalm 139) is a clear example of her versatility and ability to move between genres while keeping her music grounded in emotion and authenticity.
Honesty (Psalm 139) is out now on all streaming platforms.
