His music is filled with positivity, imagination, and a genuine desire to connect with people from all walks of life.
His latest single, “Come Dance in the Fire,” is a perfect example of this creative spirit. The result is a vibrant and uplifting track that invites listeners to celebrate life, friendship, and the power of music.
As K-Iai continues to grow and reach new audiences around the world, his commitment to bringing people together through music remains at the heart of everything he does. In this exclusive interview, we speak with the creative mind behind K-Iai about his journey, inspirations, challenges, and the exciting future that lies ahead.
For readers discovering your music for the first time, can you introduce yourself and share the story behind K-Iai and what inspired you to pursue a career in music?
Hi! My name is Daniel, the person behind K-Iai. I’m german, living next to Frankfurt. I was born in Brazil and come from a family with Arab roots. Growing up surrounded by different cultures shaped the way I see the world—and the way I experience music.
I’ve always been fascinated by technology. Since I was a child, I was curious about computers, digital tools, and how technology and innovation can connect people. At the same time, I was constantly writing poetry, reflections, and song lyrics, even if they were only for myself.
When AI opened up new creative possibilities, I saw an opportunity to bring those two passions together: technology and storytelling. K-Iai became the place where human emotion meets digital creativity, allowing me to share my thoughts, feelings, and experiences through music with a much wider audience.
“Come Dance in the Fire” is inspired by Brazil’s Festa Junina celebrations. What drew you to this cultural tradition, and what message did you hope to share with listeners through the track?
“Festa Junina” (June’s party) is one of Brazil’s most beloved cultural traditions. Every June, people come together to celebrate through music, dancing, food, friendship, and a strong sense of community.
What inspires me most is the joy and warmth that surround these celebrations. With “Come Dance in the Fire,” I wanted to capture that feeling and share it beyond Brazil’s borders. That’s why I chose to write the lyrics in English. To give international listeners a chance to experience the spirit, energy, and happiness that “Festa Junina” brings to millions of people every year.
Looking back at your journey so far, is there a particular moment that made you realize music was more than just a passion and could become a serious career path?
To be honest, I’m still coming to terms with that idea. K-Iai started as a personal creative project, something I was doing mainly for myself. But at some point, I felt the urge to share it with others.
The feedback I’ve received in such a short time, the playlist support, and the growing engagement around some of my songs have made me realize there may be something bigger here. I’m still at the beginning of the journey, but every new listener encourages me to keep going.
Your new single, “Come Dance in the Fire,” blends Brazilian forró with international pop influences. What inspired you to bring these two musical styles together?
Forró is one of Brazil’s liveliest and most cheerful musical styles. It has a catchy rhythm that naturally makes you want to dance.
I loved the idea of combining that energy with a modern international pop sound. The goal was to create something that feels authentically Brazilian while still being accessible to listeners anywhere in the world. Music has the power to cross borders, and this song is my way of building that bridge.
If you could collaborate with any artist, past or present, regardless of genre, who would it be and what do you think that collaboration would bring out in your music?
That’s a difficult question! Looking at the artists I admire, I think Dua Lipa would be an exciting collaboration because of her ability to combine strong pop melodies with dancefloor energy. Ava Max would also be a great fit for the kind of uplifting and empowering music I enjoy creating.
And if we’re allowed to dream big, collaborating with Cher would be incredible. She’s a true icon who has continuously reinvented herself throughout her career, and I deeply admire that.
Many artists evolve over time. In what ways do you feel you’ve grown personally and creatively since you first started making music?
I love learning. Curiosity has always been a big part of who I am. One of the things that has fascinated me most throughout this journey is discovering how powerful words can be inside a song.
I’ve learned that sometimes a single word, placed in exactly the right spot, can completely change the rhythm, emotion, and impact of a lyric. Paying attention to those details has probably been my biggest creative lesson so far.
What has been the biggest challenge you’ve faced as an independent artist, and how has that experience shaped your approach to your music career?
The biggest challenge is visibility. Creating music is only part of the journey; helping people discover it is often much harder.
As an independent artist, I’ve learned that perseverance is just as important as creativity. Every playlist placement, review, interview, or new listener matters. That experience has taught me to focus less on instant results and more on building genuine connections with people who resonate with the music.
When listeners discover your music for the first time, what is the one thing you hope they understand about you as an artist beyond the songs themselves?
I hope they understand that music is a universal language. It has the power to connect us with our deepest emotions and with ourselves.
Most of my songs carry an uplifting energy. Whether someone is walking, exercising, driving, or simply listening through headphones, I want the music to bring a smile, spark a memory, or inspire movement. If a song helps even one person feel a little more connected to themselves, then I’ve achieved my goal as an artist.
Your work combines nostalgic pop influences with AI-assisted music production. How do you strike a balance between technological innovation and maintaining a genuine human connection in your music?
I don’t have a band. I don’t know producers, studio owners, or people working inside the music industry. AI gave me access to possibilities that otherwise wouldn’t have existed for me.
That said, technology is simply the tool I’ve found to express myself. The emotions, stories, lyrics, and intentions behind every song are entirely human. AI helps me bring those ideas to life, but the heart of the music will always come from real experiences and genuine emotions.
Looking ahead, what are your goals for K-Iai as a project, and can fans expect more genre-blending releases that explore different cultures and musical traditions?
Absolutely. Exploring different cultures, rhythms, and musical traditions is part of K-Iai’s identity. Curiosity has always driven me creatively.
Every release is an opportunity to discover something new. “Tonight We Move” drew inspiration from Brazilian funk, “Polaroids” incorporated country-pop influences, and “Come Dance in the Fire” blends forró with international pop.
I expect that journey of experimentation to continue, always searching for new ways to connect people through music while building a sound that feels uniquely K-Iai.
