Thank you for joining us today, Milune and congratulations on your latest single. We’re excited to dive into the emotional depth of your latest track, ‘Hollow.’ Can you tell us more about the inspiration behind this profoundly personal and emotionally charged song?
“Hollow, to me, was a track that emerged on a day I had originally intended to record a more cheerful song. However, I found myself unable to sing with that upbeat energy, as my mood was rather down. This song predominantly delves into my exploration of coping mechanisms I aim to consign to the past, along with the internal struggle of desiring healing while also harboring uncertainty about whether to let go of the sadness and the familiar comforts that sustained me during difficult times when no other solace was available. Creating this song was, for me, an immensely therapeutic experience, akin to shedding a heavy emotional burden. My aspiration is that it can offer solace to others just as it did for me.”
Your music is deeply resonating with audiences, and your journey in the music industry has been remarkable. Can you tell us a bit about your musical background and how you got started on this path?
“Music has been an integral part of my life since birth. I was raised in a family deeply immersed in the world of music and art, so it has been a constant presence throughout my upbringing. I always had a sense that this was my calling, though opinions can shift over time. Despite those shifts, I consistently returned to my passion for music. In particular, my entry into the music industry was greatly influenced by my mother, and now, for the past year, I’ve been actively pursuing it.”
Your career has seen remarkable success, with label offers, sync deals, and international performances. What has been the most memorable moment of your journey so far, and what are your aspirations for the future?
It’s challenging to single out a particular moment since there have been numerous instances when I’ve been genuinely astounded by everything happening around me. However, I believe the first time I truly grasped the extent of the project’s impact and the number of dedicated fans, which occurred approximately a year ago, was a pivotal, life-changing moment for me. It was then that I realized this could be my lifelong pursuit, with a dedicated community of supporters accompanying me on this journey.
Your musical journey began at a young age, with a family deeply involved in the world of music. How did your upbringing influence your career, and what was it like releasing your debut single, ‘what am I Living for?’ in 2022?
Growing up in Switzerland, the music industry and artistic pursuits weren’t commonplace. Therefore, the combination of having a musical family and being raised in an open-minded environment not only shaped my career but also rendered it entirely feasible. Without the support I’ve received, I believe I wouldn’t be on this path at all. From a purely practical standpoint, it would have been nearly impossible. So, I owe my current position to them entirely.
In addition to your music, you’ve been actively engaged with your followers on social media, sharing your experiences and struggles with mental health. How important is it for you to connect with your fans on a personal level?
The primary focus for me, without a doubt, is music. While I’m deeply passionate about creating music, the most significant aspect for me is the connection it fosters with people. Music serves as a universal language, and whether it’s through the music itself or through interactions like direct messages on Instagram or comments on TikTok, it remains the most rewarding and fulfilling part of the entire process for me.
It’s wonderful how art can be such a healing outlet. Your ability to channel these emotions into your music is truly remarkable. Can you share more about your creative process when working on ‘hollow’? How did you capture such raw and vulnerable feelings in the song?
‘Hollow’ was a highly personal project for me. I channeled raw and vulnerable emotions by drawing from my own struggles and uncertainties. The song’s creation was influenced by a downbeat mood, which I felt compelled to express through music. The melody and instrumentation were integral in conveying these emotions.
That’s certainly something to look forward to and we’ll be eagerly awaiting your debut album. With your talent and dedication, there’s no doubt it will make a profound impact. Can you give us a sneak peek into what we can expect from this upcoming project?
I anticipate that the upcoming project will bring many unexpected elements. I’ve been experimenting with various soundscapes, making the album an exciting prospect. Each track carries its unique character, representing different aspects of my life over the past two to three years, the various paths I’ve traversed during the creation of these songs. I’m eagerly looking forward to sharing the entire narrative of my career’s inception through this album.
