During the ‘Golden Years’ of merengue, Gantier was part of iconic orchestras such as Los Hijos del Rey, Dioni Fernández, Los Hijos de Puerto Rico, and El Conjunto Quisqueya. In Puerto Rico, where he lived for over 30 years, he founded his own orchestra, “Jacinto Gantier y su Orquesta.” One of his most notable albums, ‘Con el amor no se juega‘, released in 1992 under the Pepe Récords label, boasts his vibrant and energetic merengue style. The album includes hits like ‘Juego De Amor‘, ‘Piña‘, ‘La mujer que no soñé‘, and ‘Al rojo vivo‘.
After a successful career in Puerto Rico, Gantier returned to his native country in 2019. With a solid track record and international recognition, Jacinto Gantier remains a respected figure in Latin music. His passion for merengue and versatility as a bolero singer have made him a sought-after artist in Puerto Rico, the United States, and the Dominican Republic.
