Below is the exclusive interview that i had with Italian-born singer-songwriter Vina Rose.Kindly, read interview below and be sure to check out “Breathe Again” by Vina Rose.

1.Tell me a Little About Yourself?

I’m a loyal, funny, honest, explosive and incredibly passionate person, I’m determined, slightly competitive, very respectful and extremely sensitive soul.I have a strong personality but at the same time I can be vulnerable and fragile.I love to talk, philosophy, good company, travel and surprises. And I adore dogs.

2.What Inspired you to write ‘Breathe Again’

Breathe Again derives from a phase in my life in which I wasn’t really happy for my personal and professional situation, I was looking for a change, I wanted to feel alive again, and ultimately , as the lyrics depict, there was my understanding to release from a cage with a determination to move onto better days.

3.What drew you to the music industry?

I suppose the artistic gene is intrinsic within me, I was born surrounded by music considering that my parents, my brother and some of my relatives are also musicians, so I guess my choice to pursue a music career has always been natural for me since I’ve had the support from my family, and consequently the decision to make a living from it came from there, even knowing that the music business wasn’t going to be a walk in the park.

4.‘What do you enjoy most about being a musician?

The fact that I can meet and connect with people from all around the world and to be able to express myself, my feelings and my perceptions of life and share those through my music; furthermore being a musician means to travel a lot and I just love it.

5.If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?

Majority of the people in the industry tend to act primarily on economic interests, which is understandable, since it is a business as well, however sometimes I would love that music and art would always come first, but ultimately is not always like that.

6.Describe your family member’s musical interests and abilities.

My mum and dad are into Italian music mainly, they do enjoy of course also international music, but they love to sing songs by classic Italian artists like Eros Ramazzotti, Andrea Bocelli, Mia Martini, Pino Daniele, Zucchero and so on.My dad sings and plays keyboard and bass, my mother sings only.My brother instead is more into different genres of music, he plays keyboard and sings, he loves bands like Aerosmith, Oasis or Queen, as well as themes from musicals like Les Miserable or The Phantom of the Opera, since he’s an actor as well and does shows in theatres .

7.How often and for how long do you practice?

I tend to practice every day, I can’t quantify a precise amount of hours I spend doing that, but that depends on what I need to do and what is my priority for that day (Some day could bewriting, some day could be practicing, rehearsing or performing for shows and gigs, etcetc), but I sing mostly every day (Except for when I’m sick or on holiday perhaps).

8.How do you balance your music with other obligations ?

Music is a such a huge part of my day by day life that it’s like wearing clothes every day before leaving home.Obviously sometimes there are days where the responsibilities of living life make it hard to focus in just being creative, however I think that since I’m very organized and precise in everything I do, I suppose that that gives me the opportunity to balance the time I spend with music with the rest of my commitments.

9.What advice would you have for someone wanting to follow in your footsteps?

Have patience, don’t chase fame, do it ‘cause you love it, be realistic with your goals, don’t look for shortcuts but work hard and consistently, be true to yourself, don’t compare or copy someone else. Be the best yourself and don’t be afraid to commit mistakes.
