Country singer-songwriter Megan Barker had a banner year in 2025. She released three independent singles, “Bad Boy,” “Heartache Heaven,” and “Summer Makes Me Homesick.” Plans for a Christmas single are in the pipeline.

Barker added high-visibility festival shows to her already impressive resume, including Tin Pan South in Nashville (alongside Mike Reid, Dave Berg, and Joel Shewmake), the Key West Songwriters Festival, and the inaugural Destin Songwriters Festival. In addition, she hosted the open mic at the Durango Songwriter Expo in Ventura, CA, and was an official artist performer for the Bass Pro Tour during summer 2025. She also completed successful tours throughout Texas, California, and Florida, which helped to greatly expand her national fanbase. She will close out the year with concerts in Illinois and Memphis.

Her original songs were recorded by other artists as well; she co-wrote “Nicotine,” released as a single by Allie Colleen and included on Colleen’s ‘Sincerely’ EP. And she was Finalist in the prestigious 2025 John Lennon Songwriting Contest with her critically acclaimed song “Cowboys Church,’ which she recorded with Texas stalwart Zane Williams in 2024. Williams adds, “I can’t believe it’s been 20 years since I won the John Lennon Songwriting Contest with my song ‘Hurry Home.’ The prize money paid for the first decent recording I ever made, which in turn led to that song being discovered by Sony Records and released as a single for Jason Michael Carroll in 2008. Today I cheer from the sidelines as the competition shines its spotlight on Megan Barker’s “Cowboy’s Church” (featuring guest vocals by this grizzled veteran). Congrats Megan and thank you JLSC for continuing to tip those dominos over for deserving artists and songs.”

Not one to rest on her laurels, Barker shows no signs of letting up in 2026. Her long-awaited debut album is set for release in the new year. She will be joining Doug Stone on his Farewell Tour as direct support, and she plans to launch a members-only area on her official website, featuring exclusive album content, behind-the-scenes videos, and other insider material designed to bring fans closer to the creative process.

“2025 has been a wonderful year full of my favorite things; releasing music and being busy out on the road!” exclaims Barker. “2026 is already promising to bring me some crazy new adventures. I’m grateful to have so many dreams coming true. I can’t wait to see what’s next. Now back to work!”

ABOUT MEGAN BARKER

Megan Barker came into this world with songwriting in her blood. Born in Nashville, Megan’s father wrote songs for legends like Ronnie Milsap, Barbara Mandrell, Hank Williams Jr, and more. By the age of sixteen, Megan was living in Las Vegas and performing live music professionally on the world-famous Las Vegas Strip, and opening concerts for stars. In 2017, she planted her roots back in her hometown of Nashville. In 2018, Megan released the highly anticipated EP, ‘Leather Souls’ produced by Brad Hill.

The project included fan favorites, “Tequila Told Me To,” “I Cuss When I Pray,” and “When My Boots Were New.” 2019 was a year of milestones and came with endorsements from McPherson Guitars, Shure Microphones, and Dan Post cowboy boots. Megan played what she calls some of her “favorite shows ever” in the UK, Scotland, and Ireland. She also debuted at the Bluebird Cafe to a sold-out crowd and was featured on the “Spotlight Stage” at CMA Fest. In 2021, she was a co-writer on six single releases including ‘’93’ by Kimberly Dawn, which was in rotation on SiriusXM.

Other releases include songs from award-winning Canadian group The Heels, Vine superstar and Nashville’s beloved Justen Harden, TikTok sensation, Jordan Rainer, and more. Megan capped the year off with her music video for “Missin’ Mistletoe” being added to CMT and a delightful review from the legendary Robert K. Oermann which extolled, “The DISCovery Award goes to Megan Barker. Her sweet, light country soprano is accompanied by a small jazz combo of piano/brushed snare/electric guitar on this gently wistful outing. The mood is utterly dreamy.” In 2022, Megan was the official host of the live shows at the Durango Songwriter Expo in Ventura, California. Her fan-favorite, “Friend Like That” was released as a single along with a hilarious music video. That summer Megan collaborated with friend and famed producer Rob Galbraith on an original, funky duet, “Should Know Better.” Megan added to her stacked resume two more original holiday songs, directed, and produced both music videos. “Counting On Christmas” which was featured on CMT.
Megan spent a lot of time on the road in 2023. She made her Tin Pan South debut alongside the legendary Mike Reid, Mitch Rossell, and Joel Shewmake. In May, she crossed performing at Atlanta’s own Eddie’s Attic off her bucket list. In July, Megan headed to Texas for a string of successful shows, ending at the iconic Dosey Doe’s Big Barn opening for tomorrow’s superstars, The Wilder Blue. During this busy summer, Megan managed to release three strong singles back-to-back to back surpassing hundreds of thousands of streams.
