Big Loud / Back Blocks Music’s rising Country star Ashley Cooke has achieved her first-ever No. 1 song at Country radio with her heartfelt breakup anthem, “your place.” Described as a “feel good, I don’t need you anthem,” the track, co-written by Cooke, Jordan Minton, and Mark Trussell, is a landmark achievement. It marks the first single from a breakout Big Loud female artist to claim the top spot and is only the second single by a female artist to reach No. 1 on Country radio in 2024. Additionally, Cooke has secured the highest chart position for a solo female artist in 2024 on Billboard Country Airplay, reaching No. 2 this week.
“It is truly an honor to join the legacy of Country radio No. 1’s,” shares Cooke. “Reaching the top of the chart has been a goal of mine since the first time I picked up a microphone and getting to ring the bell with the greatest team at Big Loud and the radio champions I now call friends is all the more rewarding.”

Impacting radio on December 11, “your place” ascended to the top in just 26 weeks, making it the second-fastest growing solo female debut single on Country Aircheck/MediaBase in the last decade. The song also held the No. 1 spot on the UK Country Radio Airplay chart for four weeks, making Cooke the first artist to achieve this since the chart’s inception earlier this year.
Billboard had foreseen the song’s potential to become Cooke’s first radio hit, and it has indeed secured the No. 1 position on SiriusXM’s The Highway Hot 30 Countdown. To date, “your place” has garnered over 62 million global on-demand streams. This career milestone coincides with Cooke’s feature on Brantley Gilbert’s track “Over When We’re Sober,” which was released to Country radio on June 20 and universally on June 21. The duet debuted at No. 31 and No. 41 on the Billboard Country Airplay and Country Aircheck/MediaBase charts, respectively, becoming the most-added single of the week and placing Cooke among the top three gainers on Country Aircheck/MediaBase this week.
Earlier this year, “your place” earned Cooke her first CMT Music Award for Breakthrough Female Video of the Year. The music video, directed by ACM and CMA award-winner Justin Clough, captures the song’s raw emotions and Cooke’s personal journey of reclaiming her independence post-breakup.
Cooke will continue promoting her critically acclaimed debut album shot in the dark on the U.S. leg of Jordan Davis’ DAMN GOOD TIME Tour throughout the summer, with a headline tour announcement expected soon. Recognized as MusicRow’s Discovery Artist of the Year and Next Big Thing, she will also perform at several major festivals, including Windy City Smokeout, Faster Horses, Country Boom, and Country Summer.
