Stars Shine at the 24th BET Awards in Los Angeles: The 24th BET Awards gathered stars from entertainment, media, sports, and beyond at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles yesterday. The celebrities stepped out in their finest attire, transforming the red carpet into a runway of glamorous fashion statements.
Hosted for the third time by actress Taraji P. Henson, the BET Awards is an annual celebration honoring black entertainers and other minorities in music, film, sports, and philanthropy.
Tyla started the night with a bang, securing double wins for Best International Act and Best New Artist. Other big winners included Victoria Monét, Killer Mike, and Usher. Usher received both a prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award and the title of Best Male R&B/Pop Artist. SZA was awarded Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, while Killer Mike took home Album of the Year. Victoria Monét’s “On My Mama” won her the BET Her Award and Video of the Year. Regina King was honored as Best Actress, and Tems won the Dr. Bobby Jones Best Gospel/Inspirational Award for her song “Me & U.”
