Canadian-born, Bristol-raised, and now based in London, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Noah Villeneuve has released his long-awaited debut solo album, Songs of Noah Villeneuve. The 10-track record blends indie folk, alternative rock, Americana, and melodic pop into a deeply personal collection that reflects on heartbreak, recovery, sobriety, and emotional growth.
Marking his first solo release after years of performing across the UK’s underground music scene, the album captures a significant chapter in Villeneuve’s life. Written during a period of major personal change, Songs of Noah Villeneuve explores the emotional highs and lows of love, codependency, self-discovery, and learning to build healthier relationships through the perspective of newfound sobriety.
Across its ten songs, the album unfolds like a personal diary, moving through feelings of guilt, confusion, grief, and frustration before arriving at acceptance, healing, and hope. Although rooted in Villeneuve’s own experiences, the songwriting speaks to universal emotions, making the record both deeply intimate and widely relatable.
Reflecting on the project, Villeneuve describes the album as an honest act of self-examination.
“Songs of Noah Villeneuve is really about holding up a mirror to myself,” he explains. “It’s about the aftermath of an intense relationship, the lessons that come with recovery, and learning how to exist honestly with yourself and the people you love. At the same time, there’s a real sense of freedom throughout the record. It’s my first solo project and my first release since 2021, so there’s genuine joy in finally sharing this music.”
Musically, the album moves effortlessly between stripped-back acoustic moments and expansive, guitar-driven arrangements. Influenced by artists including Bleachers, The Magnetic Fields, Waxahatchee, Broken Social Scene, The National, Elliott Smith, Leonard Cohen, MJ Lenderman, Lizzy McAlpine, and The Cure, Villeneuve creates a sound that feels both timeless and refreshingly modern. His honest lyricism, expressive vocals, and memorable melodies remain at the heart of every track.
Early listeners have praised the album for its emotional honesty and immersive songwriting, describing it as “beautifully intimate, heartbreaking, mystical indie brilliance.” The record succeeds not only as a personal statement but also as a collection of songs that invite listeners to reflect on their own experiences with love, loss, and healing.

Produced, mixed, and mastered by Josh Gallop at Stage 2 Studios in Bath, the album highlights Villeneuve’s versatility as a musician, with performances on guitar, bass, piano, and vocals throughout the project. He is joined by drummer Billy Golding, pedal steel guitarist David Klinke Jørgensen, and violinist Jessica Roch, whose contributions add warmth and depth to the album’s rich sonic landscape.
With Songs of Noah Villeneuve, Noah Villeneuve delivers a thoughtful and emotionally resonant debut that introduces him as a compelling new voice in the indie music world. Honest, beautifully crafted, and deeply human, the album marks an exciting new chapter in his artistic journey.
