Acclaimed Nigerian-American singer-songwriter Aisha Badru announces her second album, ‘The Sun Still Rises,’ set for release on November 29th. Alongside this announcement, she has unveiled a new single, ‘Boundaries,’ now available on all streaming platforms.
Aisha’s artistry is rooted in her ability to transform complex human emotions into simple, profound truths, creating a meditative experience through her music. This talent is showcased in her recent singles, including the introspective indie pop of “Thankful To Be Here,” the uplifting “Life To Live,” the evocative “A Little Mad,” and now, the new single “Boundaries,” all of which are featured on the upcoming album.
“I’ve always felt torn,” Badru confesses, “between being a singer-songwriter and being recognized in the wellness space.” Today, she bridges both worlds. Since her 2018 debut album, ‘Pendulum,’ Aisha has expressed themes of heartache, transformation, and renewal through her music. With ‘The Sun Still Rises,’ she takes on the role of a guide, leading listeners away from darkness. “Yes, I’m an artist,” she explains, “but I am very intentional about my music: it is meant to be healing and emotionally soothing. This album captures my complete growth.”
Aisha describes ‘The Sun Still Rises’ as a testament to the power of stillness and reflection, which is evident in her new single, “Boundaries.” With its honest lyrics and Aisha’s signature gentle vocals, ‘Boundaries’ embodies a folk simplicity that encourages listeners to step away from the overwhelming noise of social media and constant news.
“’Boundaries’ challenges the relentless workaholic mentality prevalent today, especially in the social media era,” Aisha states. “Sometimes, the best way to progress is through stillness and rest.”
