Produced by SIG SALI himself, co-produced by Freddie Cowan (The Vaccines, Freddie & The Scenarios), and mixed by Ricardo Acasuso (The Vaccines), the upcoming EP brings rich musical arrangements, blending cinematic synths, bright guitar tones and striking vocal melodies to create tracks which are catchy and accessible whilst retaining an alternative flair.
‘Sleen’ highlights a more upfront, point side to Sig Sali’s sound, keeping the glittering synths and electronics but met with a more pointed indie energy through its spiky guitar riffs and driving drums.
Talking about the track, SIG SALI explains:
“This was the first track I took to Freddie (The Vaccines, Freddie And The Scenarios) to add guitars, and it ended up shaping the whole EP. It was also the moment SIG SALI really became a solo project. Freddie’s guitars pushed the song further, and we ended up co-producing it together.
“The chorus is actually about 10 years old! I went back to some old songs and remembered how catchy it was, I didn’t even have to change the lyrics. It just still worked.
This one was brutal to finish. I kept sending mixes back to Freddie, and he kept telling me to push it further. I was exhausted, but he was right—it was worth it. When we finally got it done, we were so proud of it that we decided to make a five-track EP.
There are a few little samples in there from my studio, like a door slamming and a can of Coke dropping on the desk. I love sneaking in those kinds of sounds.”
The Chaos In My Mind EP is a reflection of SIG SALI’s personal evolution as an artist, blending emotive lyrics with bold, atmospheric production. From the smooth, electronic pulses to the soaring indie-rock guitar riffs, SIG SALI crafts a sound that is uniquely his own. The upcoming EP also taps into the dream-like allure of late-night moments, with each song carrying a distinct mood and narrative, all presented through SIG SALI’s alter ego.
With a wave of growing support across the likes of Earmilk, Notion, Purple Melon and BBC Radio, Sig Sali has started to make a name for himself as one to watch.
