Having already built an enormous following online, with more than 1 million subscribers on YouTube, 730k TikTok followers, and countless Spotify playlist additions for his recently unveiled offerings, Japanese rapper, singer, and actor OdAkEi has now teamed up with world renowned beat box crew SARUKANI to deliver the explosive new single ‘9 Lives’.
Despite its heavy and blistering production, all sounds within ‘9 Lives’ have been created using human voices to make this brilliantly vivid listening experience. Broad and kaleidoscopic throughout, the final result was brought together by Ryosuke “Dr.R” Sakai, a producer for Japanese artist/label group MNNF, who has worked on songs for many artists in Japan and throughout the world.
Describing the meaning behind ‘9 Lives’, OdAkEi said, “The title ‘9 Lives’ is a reference to the proverb “A Cat Has Nine Lives,” which evokes the indomitable tenacity of a cat that perseveres against all odds to achieve its goal.”
