Mavin Global, majority-owned by Universal Music Group, has promoted Tega Oghenejobo to President and Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately. This expanded role builds on his existing COO position and recognizes his “extensive contributions to the company’s growth and strategic direction,” according to Mavin.
UMG acquired a majority stake in the Lagos-based music company in February. A founding member of Mavin Records in 2012, Oghenejobo has been instrumental in transforming Mavin into one of Africa’s leading music companies.
Mavin’s roster includes stars like Rema and Ayra Starr, whose debut albums have become the most-streamed debuts by a Nigerian male and female artist, respectively.
