Dublin solo artist Isidore shares the buoyant new single ‘No Time, All The Time’. Bringing together an essence of jangley indie-pop with the introspective grit of Bob Dylan thanks to the vocal delivery, Isidore showcases his unique sonic identity on the new single. Bright guitar tones, tight boxy drums, grounding bass and glockenspiel to accentuate the main riff, the track creates a youthful indie energy which is contrasted against the yearning, melancholic vocal melodies.
Carrying the emotional depth and story telling sensibilities of a singer-songwriter, but with layered atmospheric textures and rhythmic flair of indie, the result is a track which can be considered alt-pop as much as indie-folk.
Speaking about the track, Conor explains: “It’s a song about longing, in this case, for time or for love, both just out of reach. There’s a sort of quiet frustration in knowing something is right there, yet still feeling unable to hold on to it. The opening lyric, ‘I saw the sunlight through the window’, really sums it up for me; the idea of being able to see and feel something so clearly, but never quite grasp it due to some invisible barrier. I think the frantic vocal delivery reflects that desperation; like trying to cling to a moment or a person before they slip away.”
The solo project of 23-year-old Conor “Isidore” Fagan from Clondalkin, Dublin, Isidore brings together alt-folk and indie-rock through melody-driven tracks inspired by artists from The Strokes and The National to Bob Dylan. Isidore has gained early support across RTE, Raidió na Life and Dublin City FM as well as played a number of notable live shows including Ireland Music Week and opening for the likes of Thomas Hingley and Frowning Hours at Whelan’s.
