In honor of 130 years of music history, Gibson, a famous global brand of instruments, has teamed up with the London-based busking program Busk In London to host live music performances by buskers every week at the Gibson Garage London.
The Mayor of London started the Busk In London program in 2014 to bring attention to how important the city’s small venues are. The program’s goal is to help artists with their careers by giving them “talent development opportunities and music industry education experiences.”
The scheme, which is now its own program and is run by Found in Music, is the best place in the city to see live music and acts by buskers.
Gibson says they are “honored to expand the program to create an emerging talent pipeline so that more buskers can take the stage at the Gibson Garage London and gain valuable performance experience in a professional music venue setting.” Gibson worked with Busk In London on the successful “London’s Streets are Paved with Talent” campaign before.

Rising musicians Leire, Atticus Blue, Samuel Ashton, Kitty Montague, Freddie Joon, and Clayton played at the first show of the series last week. All of them have been busking across London as skilled musicians.
UK singer-songwriter Sam Tompkins was there because he is a big fan of up-and-coming artists and used to be a busker himself. Manager of 24 Hour London in the Mayor of London’s office Paul Broadhurst gave the opening speech.
After the first practice, buskers will play music every two weeks on the brand-new stage on the lower level of the Gibson Garage London.
Music fans can find out about new performance dates on Instagram at @GibsonGuitarUK. Artists will be chosen through the Busk In London program.

“I started out by busking.” “It taught me so much about how to perform and also how to talk to people,” Tompkins said in a news release. “Seeing everyone play today made me miss when I used to be a busker.” Gibson always takes care of me when I’m on tour, so it’s great to be a part of this event for them.
