You’ve had quite an impressive journey as an artist, from growing up in a musical family to becoming a rising star in the alt-pop scene. Can you tell us more about your early influences and how they shaped your musical path?
Music was a constant in my childhood. My dad would play Queen and The Beatles around the house, and those songs were my first introduction to the magic of melody, harmony, and storytelling. I remember being fascinated by the way Freddie Mercury could command an audience with both his voice and presence. And The Beatles—they showed me how music could be so versatile and timeless. Those early experiences planted the seed for my own dreams of creating music that connects with people on a deep level.
Your latest EP, Closing Chapters, is deeply personal and deals with themes of love, heartbreak, and closure. How did your emotional experiences shape the creation of this record?
This EP came from one of the hardest and most transformative times in my life. I went through heartbreak and betrayal that really shook me, but writing Closing Chapters became my way of processing everything. The songs capture my journey from feeling completely broken to finding strength and closure. It’s deeply personal, but I wanted to create something that would resonate with anyone who’s been in that place of pain and healing. For me, making the EP was as much about understanding myself as it was about reaching out to others who might be experiencing heartbreak in the same way.
What was it like writing and recording the tracks for Closing Chapters? Was there a specific moment or song on the EP that was particularly cathartic or meaningful for you?
Writing Closing Chapters felt like laying all my emotions out for everyone to see. Each song represented a step in my journey of healing and self-discovery. One track that stands out to me is “Meant For Me.” It feels like the closing of a chapter, both in the EP and in my life. The song is about coming to terms with the fact that sometimes love doesn’t work out—not because we failed, but because it simply wasn’t meant for us. Writing and recording it was incredibly cathartic. It gave me a sense of peace and acceptance, and I hope it gives listeners that same sense of closure.
“With My Love” is a standout track on the EP, showcasing your emotive vocals and storytelling. Can you tell us about the inspiration behind this song and the creative process behind its production?
“With My Love” came from a place of deep reflection. It’s about realizing that the love and care you offered to someone were a gift they didn’t value—and that’s their loss, not yours. The song started as a quiet melody I played on the piano late at night, and from there, it evolved into this raw, stripped-back ballad. I wanted the production to stay intimate so the emotion could really shine through.
You’ve lived in various places, including Norway, Spain, Los Angeles, and now London. How have these different locations influenced your music and the way you approach songwriting?
Every place I’ve lived has shaped me and my music in unique ways. Growing up in Norway gave me an appreciation for simple, heartfelt melodies. LA pushed me to experiment and dream big, and London feels like the place where everything’s come together. Each place has added a layer to who I am as an artist, and I carry that with me every time I sit down to write.
Your social media presence is incredibly strong, with over 340,000 Instagram followers. How do you engage with your fans, and how has your relationship with them influenced your career?
I love connecting with my fans—it’s one of my favorite parts of what I do. Whether it’s through comments, DMs, or live streams, I try to create a space where we can have real conversations. Their support and feedback mean so much to me. It’s amazing to see how my songs resonate with them, and their stories often inspire me in return. They’ve been such a huge part of my journey, and I’m so grateful for the connection we share.
2024 has been a pivotal year for you with the release of Closing Chapters. What has been the most rewarding aspect of this year so far, and how do you feel about the response from your audience?
The most rewarding part has been seeing how much these songs mean to people. I’ve received messages from fans sharing their own stories of heartbreak and healing, and it’s so humbling to know that my music is part of their journey. Performing live has also been a highlight—there’s nothing like seeing an audience connect with your songs in real time. The love and support I’ve felt this year have been overwhelming in the best way.
Looking ahead to 2025, you mentioned embracing unapologetic confidence and exploring new sounds. Can you share any details about what fans can expect from your music in the upcoming year?
2025 is going to be about stepping into a more fearless version of myself. I’m experimenting with bolder sounds and embracing my full creative potential. Fans can expect a lot of energy, more risks, and some surprises along the way. It’s about pushing myself and showing the world a side of me they haven’t seen before. I’m so excited for what’s to come.
Your music spans various genres like pop and acoustic singer-songwriter. How do you balance staying true to your authentic self while experimenting with new musical directions?
I think authenticity is the foundation of everything I do. As long as the lyrics are honest and the emotion is real, I feel free to explore new sounds and ideas. Experimenting keeps me inspired, but I always make sure the core of the song stays true to who I am and what I want to say.
As someone who has cultivated a loyal fanbase, what do you hope listeners take away from your music, especially from Closing Chapters? What messages do you hope to convey?
I hope my music makes people feel seen and understood. With Closing Chapters, I want listeners to know that it’s okay to feel pain and that there’s strength in vulnerability. My message is about finding closure, rediscovering your worth, and moving forward with hope. If these songs can help someone through a tough time, that means everything to me.
You’ve described this EP as both a closing of one chapter and the start of something new. What does this transition mean for you personally and artistically?
It’s a turning point for me. Personally, it’s about letting go of the past and stepping into a stronger, more confident version of myself. Artistically, it’s about growth and evolution. I feel ready to take more risks, explore new sounds, and push myself creatively. This transition feels like stepping into my power, and I can’t wait to see where it leads.
