Some artists create music to entertain, while others use it as a way to challenge perspectives and explore the complexities of the human mind. A.E.R.O. FLYNN belongs firmly in the latter category. As an independent hip-hop artist, producer, engineer, and founder of Epic Glyph Records, he has built a reputation for crafting cinematic records that combine sharp lyricism, atmospheric production, and thought-provoking concepts. Rather than following trends, his music is rooted in substance, inviting listeners to look beyond the surface and engage with ideas that linger long after the final verse.
His latest single, “Dark Ego,” perfectly reflects that artistic philosophy. Instead of telling a conventional street story, the record examines the internal battle between the light and darkness that exists within every person. Speaking candidly about the inspiration behind the song, A.E.R.O. FLYNN explains that Dark Ego is about confronting the personal demons we all carry and finding the courage to face them. For him, the “dark ego” represents the hidden voice inside all of us, the thoughts we may never act upon but cannot pretend don’t exist. Rather than denying that side of human nature, he believes understanding it is part of personal growth.
What makes A.E.R.O. FLYNN’s work particularly compelling is his complete creative independence. As the owner of Epic Glyph Records, he writes, produces, engineers, and shapes every aspect of his music himself. Every beat is carefully crafted before the lyrics are written, allowing the atmosphere of the production to guide the emotional direction of each song. He describes this process as creating what he calls “Motion Picture Music,” a cinematic style where sound and storytelling become inseparable.
Inspired by some of hip-hop’s greatest lyricists while drawing influence from multiple musical genres, A.E.R.O. FLYNN continues to prioritize depth over trends. His music is designed to make listeners think, rewarding careful attention through layered lyrics, vivid imagery, and meaningful concepts. With Dark Ego serving as the opening chapter of his upcoming album The Dynasty Code, and following the release of his previous project Phaero Vision, he is steadily building an ambitious artistic universe driven by authenticity, creative freedom, and fearless self-expression.
In this exclusive interview with Spinex Music, A.E.R.O. FLYNN discusses the inspiration behind Dark Ego, his creative process, the importance of trusting artistic instinct, the freedom that comes with running his own record label, and why he believes the most powerful stories are often the ones we tell ourselves in the quietest moments.

Congratulations on the release of “Dark Ego.” What inspired the song, and what story were you hoping to tell through it?
The inspiration for the song is the battle between our own personal demons since we both have both good and bad in all of us. It also expresses braver and courage in the face of opposition. There was really not a story to tell outside of internal struggle.
You’ve described the track as exploring “the version of yourself that grows in the dark.” What does that phrase mean to you personally, and how does it connect to your own experiences?
Its based on the darker internal voice inside myself thoughts I may have but choose not to act on. We all have those darker thoughts from time to time and in my opinion we can either deny or embrace them.
The song explores ambition, doubt, confidence, and temptation with remarkable honesty. Why was it important for you to address these themes instead of taking a more traditional approach to hip-hop storytelling?
What is the traditional approach to Hip- Hop story telling? Idk if there is one, as it is just personal expression in many different flavors and formats. I just try to speak about things in a way that rings true to me, while using analogies, and deeper lyrics in general yet still keeping a street / urban edge.
The production creates a cinematic atmosphere that perfectly complements your lyrics. How involved were you in shaping the sound of the record, and what emotions did you want listeners to experience?
I was in complete control of the sound, because I both produced and engineered the song personally as I do most of my music. I prefer writing my lyrics to the beat instead of forcing the lyrics to fit a track. Each beat speaks to me in a way and creates the atmosphere and lyrical content and vibe.
Your delivery feels calm, controlled, and intentional throughout the track. How did you approach your performance to match the emotional weight of the lyrics?
The music predicates the vibe and approach so each track /song that may vary. I am sure there is an influence from some of my favorite artist to an extent by I also always try to add my own unique outlook and style.
Looking back at the creation of “Dark Ego,” was there a particular lyric or moment in the recording process that made you realize you had captured exactly what you wanted to express?
I would say once the song was complete and had the sound that I wanted. There wasn’t any specific lyric or moment other then just knowing when you feel like the song has been completed.

For readers discovering your music for the first time, how would you describe A.E.R.O. Flynn as an artist, and what sets your sound apart from others in today’s hip-hop scene?
I would say I try to create music that is deep , makes you think , and has substance. Perhaps this is a somewhat old school approach but I am very much influenced by the all time great MCs . Being an audiophile and fan of music in general I also have influences from different genres.
You’ve been steadily building your career under Epic Glyph Records. How has that partnership helped you grow creatively while staying true to your artistic vision?
I am the founder and Owner of Epic Glyph Records , which allows me to have the freedom to express myself , how I see fit and completely create my vision and see it through till the end. I try to create quality music , that is also almost cinematic. I sometimes refer to this as Motion Picture Music.

What has been the biggest lesson you’ve learned throughout your journey as an artist, and how has it shaped the music you’re creating today?
The biggest lesson I have learned is to trust you gut instinct when creating , and to not be discouraged easily, it takes grit to see your vision through and stay true to yourself and your creative guide.
With “Dark Ego” now out in the world, what’s next for A.E.R.O. Flynn? Can fans expect this single to be part of a larger project, and what excites you most about the future?
Dark Ego is part of an upcoming Album release called The Dynasty Code, it really is just the beginning to the story as I have very many quality tracks to come. I also have a previous album called Phaero Vision that is on all streaming platforms,
