This weekend, Italy’s largest electronic music festival – Kappa FuturFestival returned to Torino for its 13th year, welcoming over 125,000 attendees from 152 countries to Parco Dora for three days of world-class music, art, and escapism. The turnout underscores why the festival remains one of the most iconic and popular in the world, recently ranked 8th Best Festival in the World in this year’s DJ Mag Top 100.
With over 36 hours of music across seven stages, the festival brought together the biggest and best DJs in the world – blending star power, credibility, and discovery for an unforgettable weekend of electronic music. Just a few of the many highlights: Armin van Buuren made his festival debut, tearing through a Friday night set on the Futur Stage, then surprising fans the next morning with an impromptu breakfast set in town at Porta Palazzo, handing out croissants to the crowd. Solomun played two huge sets over the weekend, while Michael Bibi’s long-awaited return was met with an outpouring of love from fans. Swedish House Mafia’s Sebastian Ingrosso led euphoric singalongs on the Futur Stage, and Disclosure didn’t disappoint with their festival debut. Charlotte de Witte and Amelie Lens each drew massive crowds at The Voyager – one of the festival’s most impressive stages – with further standout sets from Floating Points, Four Tet and Richie Hawtin. Seth Troxler, Sven Väth and Enrico Sangiuliano brought massive energy, matched by the likes of Maceo Plex, Chris Lake, John Talabot, and Max Cooper. The NOVA Stage, meanwhile, saw one of its biggest crowds yet, as Peggy Gou played Sunday night to a sea of fans.
The festival has built a reputation for staging some of the most high-impact back-to-backs in the scene, and this year raised the bar with epic unions from Four Tet b2b Skrillex, Ben Klock b2b Marcel Dettmann, Diplo b2b Busy P b2b Tatyana Jane, and Jamie Jones b2b Joseph Capriati b2b Seth Troxler, and more. UK talent was well represented too, with strong showings from Interplanetary Criminal, Joe Claussell, Objekt, Jane Fitz, and Sammy Virji.
Each year the festival betters itself; expanding viewing platforms, improving the flow between stages, and introducing new art installations across the site. This year saw the launch of a brand-new fine dining experience, Taverna Furista, led by Michelin-starred chefs and culinary visionaries.
Since its inception in 2023, The Voyager stage has quickly become one of the festival’s most popular spaces, its towering digital screen dominating the skyline. NOVA Stage never disappoints, while this year’s Solar Stage – built as a tower of industrial container units, was the perfect setting for all-day, full-sun raving. The iconic Futur Stage remained as popular as ever, and the festival’s most laidback vibes came courtesy of the Kosmo Stage: hidden in a leafy corner of the site, its house and tech-house-leaning programme blends perfectly with the surrounding artwork by Marinella Senatore, her “Dance Now Think Later” neon installation lighting up the crowd.
For those eager to keep going, after parties took place at the city’s Audiodrome, Azimut, Q35, Bunker, Notorious, and Centralino, with the likes of Seth Troxler b2b Skream, Maceo Plex, Steve Rachmad, Rhadoo, Adiel, and Darius Syrossian, among many others.
Kappa FuturFestival continues to reign as Italy’s biggest electronic music festival. Having always prided itself on being a multicultural festival welcoming to all, this year was no exception, with attendees representing over 152 nationalities and delivering an estimated economic impact to Torino of €50 million.
