Emerging Boston native singer-songwriter and composer Lucy Frost continues to redefine dark pop and indie with her latest single, To Pieces. Known for her evocative lyrics and relatable storytelling, Lucy’s unique sound has captivated listeners on major streaming platforms with previous singles like Reputation (2023) and Angeles (2024). Now, she returns with her much-anticipated new release, a haunting exploration of love’s fleeting beauty.
Lucy shares that To Pieces “just fell perfectly into place” during its creation. Produced by Nick Schmidt, the track immediately resonated with her, inspiring lyrics and melodies that bring to life raw, gut-wrenching emotions. The song dives into the excitement and fear of new love—an emotional mix of wanting to hold on while accepting its impermanence. “It’s about loving something to pieces,” Lucy reflects, capturing both the thrill and vulnerability of intense connection.
To bring the song’s themes to life visually, Lucy collaborated with director Camila Florez on a cinematic music video inspired by Before Sunrise (1995). The video tells a poignant story of love found at the wrong time, aligning with the bittersweet essence of the song.
With her background in film scoring and skill across multiple instruments, Lucy combines dark pop with indie storytelling, pushing genre boundaries to create deeply relatable music.
