Detroit rap star Skilla Baby is back with the video for “So Bad,” which features fellow 2024 XXL Freshman Classmate 4Batz. The song is released by Geffen Records. The loud tribute to loyal women comes at the same time that Skilla Baby celebrated his birthday with two shows in his hometown that were helmed by the artistic powerhouse Teyana Taylor. Some of the special guests were G Herbo, YTB Fatt, Bfb Da Packman, and Tee Grizzley.
In the beginning of the “So Bad” video, made by Anfy (GloRilla, Tee Grizzley), six women are making plans to meet up at a houseparty led by Skilla Baby. There is fun all over the estate, by the pool, on the tennis court, up the stairs, and in the living room under the crystal chandelier. 4Batz and more friends also show up. The video was shown for the first time on BET Jams, BET Hip Hop, and on signs in Times Square. Some of the publications that liked “So Bad” were XXL, The Source, VIBE, HipHopDX, HNHH, Remixd Magazine, and more.

“So Bad” starts with big bass, crackling drums, and horns that bounce. Skilla Baby easily fills the huge space that was made. For example, he says, “My bankroll blue, she get Tiffany too; she wanna go to Turks, I pay for the whole crew; I pay her rent, I ain’t a trick, that’s just what real nias do.” This makes it clear that he rewards loyalty: 4Batz picks up the story: “My bch magazine-bad, like she been in Vogue / Celine on her hip, Chanel on her toe.” It was made by YPM Carter, Higherrside, and Dizzy Banko.
These words describe things that are IMPRINT: Skiilla Baby, The Coldest, 4Batz, Rapper, Rap Music, Rap Artist, New Music, Music, New Music Releases, Tee Grizzley, G Herbo, YTB Fatt, Bfb Da Packman, Teyana Taylor, Anfy, YPM Carter, Higherrside, and Dizzy Banko are all signed to Geffen Records.
Skilla Baby is still having a great year in 2024. In July, Skilla Baby released a Deluxe Edition of his popular album The Coldest. It had four new songs on it, one of which was “Booby Trap on the River” with BossMan Dlow. The second video is the latest in a string of stunning visuals that Skilla Baby has released, following “Project X (G6),” “Misfit,” “Bulletproof,” and “Free Big Meech.” Just before the deluxe edition came out, The Coldest had over 100 million views. Skull Baby was nominated for a BET Hip Hop Award this month for “Best Breakthrough Hip Hop Artist.”
In the same month, Skilla Baby got the prized “People’s Champ” spot on XXL’s 2024 Freshman Class cover, chosen by fans. He also just finished the successful “Vultures Eat The Most” Tour with Rob49. He was nominated for a BET Hip Hop Award for “Best Breakthrough Hip Hop Artist” and got praise from People, Associated Press, Galore, Billboard, Stereogum, Rolling Out (cover story), and more.
