The A Love Like This Wedding EP is a testament to Brown’s 20-plus years as a songwriter, with each track rooted in real-life inspiration. Bone of My Bones, crafted 17 years ago, is a God-breathed anthem promoting love and harmony in marriage, underscoring the biblical truth that it’s not good to be alone. Your Beauty Is Within, the first piece Brown wrote 23 years ago, emerged from a poignant encounter with a young woman who had endured abuse and contemplated suicide; it’s now a breathtaking song of inner strength and redemption. God’s Gift To Me, penned 14 years ago before his own wedding, stands as a tender tribute to his wife, while the title track, A Love Like This, was inspired 17 years ago by the union of two dear friends, radiating the joy of their milestone. I Love You paints a vivid picture of a couple’s devotion, emphasizing the importance of building a strong, Christ-centered family. The EP closes with two standout tracks: A Happy Birthday, a jubilant bonus offering that doubles as a heartfelt birthday wish and a nod to God’s favor, and Marriage Is Honourable, a powerful reflection of God’s heart for marriage as a mirror of Christ’s bond with the Church, encouraging spouses to embody the Fruit of the Spirit, love, joy, peace, and more in their relationships.
For Brown, this release is the culmination of years of patience and perseverance. “I have been writing for over 20 years now,” he shares, noting that love, weddings, marriages, and birthday celebrations have been the driving forces behind his work. “After years of writing and waiting to bring my songs alive, I believe the time has finally come in 2025.” Leveraging the latest technology and the evolving music industry, Brown poured himself into this solo project, striving for a spirit of excellence in every note. Richard Brown is no ordinary artist. A Birmingham-based author, maths teacher, poet, and songwriter, he describes his craft as a gift from a “heavenly realm,” channeling life-transforming words into poems and songs. His journey took a defining turn in 2005 at a women’s conference hosted by Ruach City Church, where he recited his first piece, Your Beauty Is Within. Gospel legend Chevelle Franklyn, moved by the performance, approached him afterward and declared, “Sir, that poem you did was about my life.” That encounter affirmed Brown’s calling, and now, two decades later, that same poem has blossomed into one of the EP’s most captivating tracks. With A Love Like This, Brown steps boldly into the music world, promising this is just the first of many albums to come.
