Los Angeles, CA – Singer‑songwriter Jacob Giaimo, originally from Orlando, FL and now based in Los Angeles, returns with his most vulnerable and self‑reflective work to date, “Pity Party”.

“Pity Party,” available everywhere, dives headfirst into the emotional remains of past relationships, but from the perspective of someone who’s grown beyond them. “I wanted to write about past relationship demons from the viewpoint of where I am now in life. I used to find myself in toxic situations when I was younger and there was a part of me that liked the drama. But you live and learn and I wanted to acknowledge that through ‘Pity Party’.”

The track’s emotional core came to fruition early in the writing process with a lyric that unlocked the rest of the song. Jacob says, “I wrote ‘I am happy and go lucky, is that boring?’ which opened the door to understand that maybe it is boring, but I’m glad to be in that place rather than a place of uncertainty and insecurity.”

“Pity Party” also marks a shift in Jacob’s sonic landscape, as he leans into joint creativity on this track. “So much of my sound on a record is through collaboration with other talented musicians who I trust,” he explains. “I give them freedom to place their musical personalities onto the song, and it creates a great melting pot of styles that I wouldn’t be able to achieve alone.”

In addition, “Pity Party” opens a new chapter in Jacob’s songwriting, one defined by vulnerability, clarity, and a willingness to confront afflictive revelations. “It represents my growing ability to be self‑reflective and genuinely honest through lyrics,” he says. “Often, great art reflects the uncomfortable truth that we have inside us. It’s more human.”

The biggest discovery for Jacob during the creation of, “Pity Party” just may be his recognizing the power of vulnerability. “I’ve learned that the more vulnerable I am, the more the music truly feels uniquely mine,” he reflects. “When I started, I wanted to be vague and generic, so people didn’t have to hear my actual thoughts, worries, and insecurities.”
