The UK’s Music Managers Forum (MMF) and YouTube Music have confirmed the return of their Accelerator Programme for Music Managers in 2025. Launched in 2019, the programme provides grants, mentoring, and training for independent music managers, helping to nurture talent and support the development of emerging artists.
Since its inception, over 135 managers have participated, with 18 completing the programme in 2024. This year, participants received grants of up to £12,000 alongside a robust educational and mentoring programme. Applications for the 2025 cohort are set to open early next year.
“2024’s intake have been fantastic, and it’s also been gratifying to see managers from earlier cohorts continue to thrive. It takes patience, commitment, and resources to develop talent,” said Paul Bonham, MMF’s professional development director.
Lizzie Dickson, YouTube UK’s head of music, highlighted the programme’s community-focused ethos: “This year featured standout moments, including an inspiring discussion with Wyclef Jean and Lyor Cohen, which truly embodied what Accelerator is all about – building community, sharing knowledge, and coming together to innovate collectively. It’s an honour to be part of this long-term legacy.”
The MMF estimates that the first five years of the Accelerator Programme generated at least £9.4 million in revenues for artists represented by its alumni managers, underscoring its impact on the UK’s independent music scene.
