Country songbirds Megan Barker, Lockwood Barr, and Kimberly Dawn have released their debut single, “3 Girls Walk Into a Bar,” via United Masters distribution. It is available today at major digital retailers.
Written by Megan Barker, Lockwood Barr, Kimberly Dawn, and Greg Friia, “3 Girls Walk Into a Bar” was mixed by Kevin Willis and produced and mastered by Kent Wells (Dolly Parton). The track features Kent Wells on acoustic guitar and ganjo, Steve Brewster on drums, Dave Fowler on bass guitar, Dane Bryant on keys, and Justin Ostrander on electric guitar.
Opening with a funky loping guitar riff, and a rock-solid downbeat, the ladies spend the next few minutes setting the stage for some playful and mischievous shenanigans during a night out on the town.
“Three girls walk into a bar
We’re turnin’ heads like Hollywood stars
Hot damn left my cash in the car
Don’t worry girl, free drinks ain’t far
10 o’clock, wait already?
No to your left, he looks like Tom Petty
He kinda cute, cologne’s kinda heavy
Think he’s gotta car? Bet he’s gotta Chevy”
The girls are definitely having a good time, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t dead serious about it (insert tongue firmly in cheek).
“Three girls
Not the ones who killed Earl
But you probably shouldn’t cross us, just in case
The night’s young
And we ain’t done
We’ll be gone before you ever know our names
So hold on tight, wherever you are
Barker, Barr, and Dawn are all accomplished songwriters and performers in their own right, and each maintain successful solo careers. The trio debuted the song last fall at The Hotel Café in Los Angeles and based on early reaction to other recent live performances of the “3 Girls Walk Into a Bar,” fans are hopeful that they will have further collaborations.

ABOUT MEGAN BARKER, LOCKWOOD BARR & KIMBERLY DAWN:
Megan Barker
Nashville singer-songwriter Megan Barker was born into country music — her father wrote songs for legends like Ronnie Milsap and Hank Williams Jr. By the age of sixteen, she was performing professionally on the Las Vegas Strip. Since returning to Nashville in 2017, Megan has become known for her gift in songwriting and dynamic live performances. With endorsements from McPherson Guitars and Shure Microphones, she’s entertained crowds from the Bluebird Café and CMA Fest to international venues in the UK and Ireland. As an artist and as a songwriter, Megan has millions of streams. Her songs have been featured on SiriusXM and recorded by other artists like Allie Colleen—whose 2025 project includes Megan’s latest cut, “Nicotine.” Allie performed the song on her national tour with Jellyroll. You can catch Megan live in 2026 as direct support on Doug Stone’s Farewell Tour. She’ll also be on official lineups for the Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival, BMI’s Key West Songwriters Festival, and more.
Lockwood Barr
With a mother who performed with John Hartford and the Dillards, a dad who taught her banjo, and a cousin, Al Barr, who fronts the Dropkick Murphys, being on stage is in Lockwood’s DNA. Known for her smoky vocals, piercing lyrical hooks, and dry humored stage banter, Lockwood Barr logs over 100 yearly shows all over the country and world. She’s toured with Clint Black, Radney Foster, Lori McKenna and Angaleena Presley (Pistol Annies), played in several festivals from Arizona to Mississippi to Denmark, and regularly hosts rounds at the Bluebird Cafe. Lockwood released a new self-titled record in Winter, 2025 with Award Winning Producer Devin Powers. She has been writing new music with icon Jeff Silbar (“Wind Beneath My Wings”) and Hall of Fame Songwriter Gary Nicholson for the project.
Kimberly Dawn
Kimberly Dawn is truly a coastal cowgirl: with one foot in the sand and the other in a well-worn cowboy boot. Long before California sunsets and Nashville songwriting sessions, she was a farm girl growing up in Alberta, Canada, working the fields on a John Deere tractor and riding her horse bareback. It was her dad who told her, “If you want to ride, you gotta catch your own horse.” No saddles and no lessons.
That girl never really left Alberta. She just grew up into a loving wife, becoming a mom of four now-grown kids who are just starting their own journeys, and finds herself still the artist at heart who finally has the space to pour everything she’s lived into her music. Having played at the Bluebird Café, the House of Blues, even a duet with Paul Anka, and a viral moment when she met her longtime hero Dolly Parton, over twenty million views and counting. Today she works with Dolly’s longtime producer Kent Wells but made him promise no shortcuts to help her potentially collaborate one day. Kimberly only wants the opportunity to earn it. Just like catching her own horse. Kimberly Dawn is still that bareback horse-riding girl chasing a dream, with a lot more she still needs to sing about.
