Raised in an international community in Beijing, ASH’s musical journey began alongside a traditional academic path. A classically trained pianist from the age of four, she later taught herself guitar, bass, and drums during her teenage years, performing at every opportunity. Balancing her passion for music with academic excellence, ASH attended the prestigious University of Pennsylvania for her undergraduate education.

Her love for the performing arts continued to flourish, starring in sold-out live shows each semester. After earning a scholarship from The New School in New York City to pursue her Masters in Music, ASH honed her craft, writing, producing, and perfecting her debut project. The demo for, Holding Water, caught the attention of Grammy-award-winning mixing engineer Jeff Ellis (known for his work with Frank Ocean, Doja Cat, and Kali Uchis), who mixed the forthcoming EP.

‘Reverse Psychology’ is an alluringly frank exploration of the complexities of a relationship falling apart. In this stunning second single, ASH captures the desperation of trying to hold on to something that’s irreparably broken.
