Review of love Damini By Burna Boy: Even though Burna Boy’s first record came out almost ten years ago, it’s only been in the last few years that the Grammy-winning Nigerian artist’s mix of Afrobeats, dancehall, rap, and R&B has become widely known.”Love, Damini” is Burna Boy’s sixth studio record. It’s a reflective work that lets his fans into his mind and heart.
Burna’s honest vocals and lyrics make the album’s lead hit, “Last Last,” a heartbreak song that makes you feel better. He thinks about an ex-lover and says, “She manipulate my love, oh.” He takes Toni Braxton’s “He Wasn’t Man Enough for Me” and makes it his own. This is a great example of how to sample from the 2000s. Whiskey has soft guitar and horns that go well with the singer’s smooth, seductive voice. Cloak & Dagger has an eerie atmosphere that sets the stage for J Hus’s unique lyrical flow.

Burna has always had pop influences in his music, but in the second part of the album, they feel too strong. Ed Sheeran is on “For My Hand,” and while the two of them sound good together, the song is too sad because it has a simple melody and standard words. The same is true for Khalid’s song “Wild Dreams”; the dull piano arrangement here kills an otherwise good record.
