Jamaican poet and singer-songwriter has announced his highly anticipated forthcoming album “Live Life & Prosper” out August 21st and is enticing fans with what’s to come from the 12-track album as he releases new single “Miss You Bad”
A follow up to “Journey” which was released at the beginning of June, alongside an acoustic choir live session which sat exclusively on Grammy’s Global Spin to give a different perspective and rendition.
‘Miss You Bad” is a completely different direction from “Journey”, steeped in true vulnerability, sadness and reflection from D’Yani. A true love song that connects love with being a high, heartbreak and emotions that are relatable to us all. Housing a more laid-back reggae beat with an infectious percussion, it’s accompanied by a sensual music video of D’Yani with his lover, and the trials and tribulations of missing someone so badly, even if they are bad for you.
When asked about the single D’Yani says
“My intention for the song was to capture the emotional pain of missing someone so deeply that their absence feels like withdrawal from an addictive substance. Through its repeated references to being “hooked,” craving a “high,” and “relapsing”, it portrays an unhealthy attachment where love becomes a dependency rather than a source of comfort, within the lyrics there is imbedded a subtle sense of Stockholm syndrome, as my aim for the listener is to recognise the relationship’s harmful effects yet continues yearning for the very person causing the pain. Despite knowing the attachment is unhealthy, there is an overwhelming desire to return, making the emotions feel both heartbreaking and relatable. Overall, I try to paint a powerful picture of love, obsession, vulnerability, and the struggle between wanting to let go and being unable to break free from an emotional bond.”
A trailblazer in his own right, Jamaican poet and singer-songwriter D’Yani has returned again with his soulful and poetic voice to showcase us another highly enchanting song lifted from his forthcoming album.

D’Yani – Bio
Jamaican singer and songwriter D’yani considers himself both a poet and a true student of music. Blending soulful storytelling with modern sounds, his music delivers a fresh, honest, and emotional take on Reggae and Dancehall.
Over the years, D’yani has evolved from an emerging talent into a headline act across some of the Caribbean’s biggest stages and festivals, including Saint Lucia Jazz & Arts Festival, Reggae Sumfest, Intimate Concert, Lost In Time, St. Kitts Music Festival, Barbados Reggae Weekend, and City Splash Festival.
D’yani emerged on the Jamaican music scene in 2022 following the COVID era, quickly capturing attention with “Feelings (Remix)” featuring Jada Kingdom and establishing himself as the newest heartthrob in Jamaican music. He continued building momentum with singles such as “Señorita,” “Goddess,” “Birthday,” “Lock and Key,” and “Ride It.”
Another major step in his career came when D’yani linked with Kareem “Remus” Burrell of XTM.Nation to create “Live A Little,” the breakout record that significantly elevated his profile internationally.
“Live A Little” also caught the attention of internationally renowned producer and media personality DJ Khaled, who shared the song multiple times across Instagram. The two later crossed paths on the red carpet at the 2025 Caribbean Music Awards in New York City, where Khaled was seen singing along to the song and “bussing blanks” a Caribbean expression symbolizing genuine excitement and cultural approval for a song and artist.
At the core of D’yani’s artistry is the message behind Live Life and Prosper, not just the title of his upcoming album, but a mindset he intentionally entered the music industry to represent. It is an energy he personally lives by, even tattooed on his skin. Whether through uplifting records like “Live A Little” and “The Little Things” or heartfelt love songs rooted in vulnerability, connection, and real emotion, D’yani’s music consistently encourages listeners to enjoy life, embrace love, and move through life with purpose and positivity.
