Dave Lenahan delivers a beautifully lived-in moment with the video for his latest single, “Die On This Barstool,” turning a simple dive bar into a place overflowing with memories, music, and meaning. From the opening line “I don’t think it would be bad to go out doing what you love,” he instantly sets the tone for a warm, reflective journey that feels familiar to anyone who has ever found comfort in the glow of neon lights and the hum of a Friday night crowd.

Shot inside a classic hometown bar, the video feels authentic in every frame. Lenahan sits perched on his barstool, performing with an effortless calm that only comes from someone who has lived every lyric he sings. The camera drifts through the room, catching the nods, smiles and quiet camaraderie of the “old honkytonk crew” referenced in the song. Even the details get their own moment, including a gold-plated nameplate on the back of Lenahan’s barstool, a clever nod for fans paying close attention.

The entire video plays like a heartfelt toast to the bars that become second homes and to the people who turn those nights into stories worth singing about. It is intimate, warm and full of truth, capturing not just a song but a lifestyle.

More About Dave Lenahan

Dave Lenahan is carving out a powerful lane in Americana and country storytelling. Born in Buffalo and raised in Cleveland, he now calls Nashville home, blending the grit of Midwest rock with the soul of Americana. His work has been spotlighted by Holler and the Academy of Country Music, further cementing his place as a rising voice in the genre.

A lifelong musician and former radio veteran, Lenahan is also the creator of The Songwriter Connection podcast, which earned Podcast of the Year at the 2024 Elite Music Awards. His music has surpassed one million Spotify streams, and his songwriting has been championed by artists across the independent scene. Chancey Williams even recorded Lenahan’s song “Baby I’m Gone” twice, solidifying it as a fan and artist favorite.

Following his debut album Or Something Like That…, Lenahan is preparing to release Absalom, a concept album inspired by a forgotten Tennessee cemetery. The project features award-winning tracks like “Absalom” and “Father of Peace,” as well as fan-favorite singles including “Die On This Barstool,” “First” and “Faces in the Glow.” Recorded with Grammy-winning producer Alan Sanderson, the album brings together a stellar cast of collaborators including Jessica Nixon, Taylin Rae, Norm McDonald and Greg Althammer.

With more than 80 songs written each year and over 100 live shows annually, including performances at The Bluebird Café and festivals nationwide, Dave Lenahan continues to build a legacy rooted in passion, authenticity and exceptional storytelling.
