Nashville-based alt-pop artist Caroline Romano returns with IDK These Days, a deeply introspective track that offers a glimpse into her upcoming EP How The Good Girls Die, set for release on February 21. The song follows a string of standout singles including Body Bag, Pretty Boys, and Born To Want More, all of which will be featured on the EP.
With IDK These Days, Caroline blends raw vulnerability with compelling storytelling. The minimalist production keeps the focus on her poignant lyrics and emotive vocal delivery, making it one of the most personal songs on the project. “I wrote IDK These Days during a period of inexplicable anger and frustration,” she explains. “It’s about the little things—like snow and traffic—that suddenly feel overwhelming. It’s that unsettling moment when even your mom notices you’re not yourself, and you’re stuck in this strange state of discontent, like being in middle school all over again.”
She continues, “The song captures the fear that these emotions might linger longer than they should. It’s about struggling to be honest when someone asks how you’re doing and admitting, ‘I don’t know these days.’ While these feelings are temporary, they can feel all-consuming in the moment. This song is my way of confronting them, saying them out loud, and finding some comfort in that honesty.”
Caroline has carved out a space for herself as an artist who effortlessly moves between delicate ballads and fiery alt-rock anthems. Since releasing her 2022 debut album Oddities and Prodigies and her 2023 EP A Brief Epic, she has continued to evolve, revealing new layers of her artistry with each project.
With How The Good Girls Die, she pushes her creative boundaries even further, offering a raw, unfiltered look into her world. The EP drops February 21.
