Aistis – Clay: Lithuanian-Canadian artist Aistis introduces Clay, an 11-track alternative folk album crafted during the final stages of his upcoming release, Caviar for Seagulls. This album delves deeply into the cyclical complexities of challenging relationships, blending elements of reality and fiction.
Clay features a character caught in the tangled web of romance, with Aistis experimenting with unconventional pacing and innovative song structures to convey the process of letting go and being drawn back into love. “The journey through a perplexing and beautiful relationship inspired Clay,” Aistis shares. “By merging reality with purposeful fiction, the album delves into themes of love, hypocrisy, self-reflection, and beauty.”
Songs such as “Thought It Over (And I Think You Should Move On)” evoke the pain of parting, while “Lilac Perfume” brings a sweet return to pleasure. The album concludes with the tender lullaby “The Mouse In The Kitchen” and a poignant piano ballad in the title track, “Clay,” highlighting love’s ever-changing nature.
