Victoria Monét Unveils Stunning Music Video for ‘Alright’ Honoring Pop Icons: Victoria Monét continues to dazzle with new visuals from her GRAMMY-winning album! On Tuesday, she unveiled the highly anticipated music video for her hit song “Alright,” paying homage to pop icons like Janet Jackson, Britney Spears, and Missy Elliott.
Directed by Dave Meyers, the video captures the sensual essence of the Kaytranada-produced track. Monét leads a crew of dancers through flawless choreography by Sean Bankhead, known for his work on “On My Mama.”
The video nods to iconic ’90s and Y2K pop culture moments, including Hype Williams’ film Belly and Janet Jackson’s “Alright” music video. With the help of stylist Kollin Carter, Monét dons a black-and-white fedora and zoot suit reminiscent of Jackson’s 1990 look. She also channels Britney Spears’ “I’m a Slave 4 U” video, dancing in a white tube top and skirt with a thong overlay, and even performs drenched in water, mirroring Spears’ iconic 2001 sequence.
