Drake, one of the biggest stars in pop culture, continues to be under the microscope as everything he does is closely analyzed by the general public. Early this morning, the Toronto-bred rapper found himself engaged in a playful back-and-forth exchange with fellow artist Lil Yachty in the comments section of one of his posts.

It all started when Lil Yachty commented, “Boy got them heavy hangers in his ear,” referring to Drake’s earrings. In response, Drake fired back, “GET OUT MY COMMENTS. YOU TOLD ME TO PAINT MY NAILS SO I WOULD STOP BITING THEM, AND NOW THE WORLD IS BEING HOMOPHOBIC FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE ‘RICH FLEX.'”

This comment from Drake marks the first time he has addressed the reasoning behind his recent use of nail polish. The rapper went viral for sporting yellow polish during a stream with Lil Yachty, and more recently, he was seen with pink colored nails ahead of his “It’s All A Blur Tour,” which kicked off on July 5 in Chicago, Illinois, with support from 21 Savage.

Lil Yachty, attempting to console Drake, chimed in with a lighthearted comment, saying, “champagnepapi, woo-sah brother. You’re not supposed to have these episodes in public. It’s fine. They just don’t get you, bro #UDIFFERENTAF.”

Drake is known for his tongue-in-cheek style of humor, making it challenging for fans to discern when he is genuinely bothered by something. As far back as 2011, he showcased this facet of his personality when he rapped, “I wonder if they’d ever survive in this era. In a time where it’s recreation to pull all your skeletons out the closet like Halloween decorations. I know of all the things that I hear they be pokin’ fun at. Never the flow, though. They know I run that,” on the track “Lord Knows.”

The child actor-turned-global music icon is well aware that this level of scrutiny and public attention comes with the territory he chose. Despite the occasional controversies, Drake continues to thrive in the music industry, captivating fans with his talent, versatility, and unique style. As always, his every move will be closely watched by the ever-vigilant public eye.
