South African music sensation Tyla is set to make waves at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs) on December 12, earning an impressive eight nominations. She is up for awards such as Top R&B Artist, Top R&B Female Artist, and Top Afrobeats Artist.
Her debut album, along with the smash hit “Water,” has earned major nominations, including Top R&B Album and Top R&B Song. Additionally, she has three entries in the Top Afrobeats Song category: “Water,” “Truth or Dare,” and “Jump,” featuring Gunna and Skillibeng.
This comes after a banner year for Tyla, whose debut album surpassed one billion streams on Spotify, with “Water” alone accumulating over 890 million plays. Her success was also recognized at the MTV EMAs and VMAs. The 2024 BBMAs will be another defining moment in her career.
