Nashville-based singer-songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and recording artist Ty Ellenbogen announces the release of his EP NUMB alongside his new video, an introspective project exploring dissociation, emotional disconnection, and the process of finding your way back to yourself.
At its core, NUMB captures the feeling of becoming detached from your emotions, your body, and the life unfolding around you. Drawing from his own experiences with mental health, Ty reflects on a period in which prolonged struggle led him to numb himself to everything, including the positive emotions that once brought him joy. As everyday life began to feel increasingly monotonous, days blurred into months and years, making it difficult to find passion and meaning in the little things.
Rather than remaining in that place of disconnection, NUMB explores the decision to keep moving forward, even without having all the answers. Guided by the idea that “the best way out is always through,” he embraces the uncertainty of the healing process and the importance of continuing to pursue the things that make life meaningful. For him, pushing through the numbness is not about having everything figured out; it is about refusing to let the struggle define what comes next.
Ty Ellenbogen says, “Even if I feel that numbness, even if it feels like work to be human every day, I’ll continue to push through it until I’m on the other side. And in doing so, I’ll inevitably find meaning along the way that fills me up little by little.”

About Ty Ellenbogen
Ty Ellenbogen is a Nashville-based songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and recording artist whose relationship with music began at an early age. At just nine years old, Ty picked up the guitar, drums, and saxophone, developing a musical foundation that would later expand into songwriting and self-producing at age 16.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Ty developed a deeper appreciation for music’s ability to transcend physical, social, and emotional barriers, offering connection and reminding listeners that they are never alone. That belief continues to inform his approach to songwriting and the stories he chooses to tell.
While his original music primarily draws from pop, indie, and R&B, his background as a multi-instrumentalist has exposed him to a broad range of musical styles, including jazz and classical. Influenced by the soft rock and R&B of the 1970s and 1980s, early-2000s singer-songwriters, and contemporary pop artists such as Olivia Dean, FINNEAS, and Sabrina Carpenter, Ty blends thoughtful lyricism, hook-filled melodies, and soulful musicianship to create a sound that feels both personal and accessible.
Through his music, Ty aims to create a space where listeners can recognise their own experiences, feel understood, and find connection in the moments when it matters most.
