Hertfordshire Indie-rock newcomers The Pedals share the high-octane new single ‘Hold Me’ (17th June).
Combining indie sensibilities with alt-rock intensity, the track delivers a surge of energy through strummed guitars, pounding drums, and a relentless bassline—all grounded by the emotional sincerity of the vocals. It opens with a wall of distortion and percussive force before pulling back into a restrained, elegant verse, creating a sharp contrast with the explosive, anthemic chorus that follows.
Speaking about the track the band explains: “‘Hold Me’ came together pretty quickly — we were playing around with the main riff as a band in a bedroom and it just clicked. Lyrically it’s about wanting someone to stay, even when you’re not exactly making it easy for them.
We didn’t overthink it — it’s raw and urgent, and we wanted it to feel like it was barely holding itself together, which felt right for the title.“
Displaying a tight, youthful yet considered and mature sound on the new single, The Pedals continue to showcase their potential.
The Pedals have quickly gained recognition from big names including such as The K’s and The Sherlocks. Having opened for Toploader and Pentire among others, the band have already earmarked themselves as one to watch with support from the likes of Earmilk, Atwood Magazine and Ones To Watch.
