Following on from a fresh and alluring array of releases throughout the last few years, emerging US artist Tenille Ja’Nae returns to deliver her first piece of new material so far in 2022, the wonderfully sensual ‘Notifications’.
Capturing more of that warm and passionate R&B direction she has cultivated for herself on previous releases, ‘Notifications’ makes for a beautifully sultry listen from start to finish. With her sweet and atmospheric voice layered amongst a breezy pop production throughout, she is looking to make a serious mark with this one.
Speaking about the new track, she said, “Notifications is a song we can all relate to.You know that one person that you thought you’ve found? This is it, I don’t need or want anyone else kind of person that didn’t workout?! Yeah, that person. As much as you try to move on, and forget about this person, minding your own business. You look up, you hear something about this person, you run into this person, it seems you just can’t get away from this person, it seems to make the process of moving on that much harder. You start second guessing, did I do the right thing by letting go, though I know it wasn’t working? Well, that’s how “Notifications” came about.”
Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter Tenille Ja’Nae is a rising R&B/soul artist who also fits comfortably in the adult contemporary genre. A New York transplant, born and raised in Little Rock, AR, Tenille Ja’Nae has taken her experiences to create music that is real, heartfelt, and relevant. Her newest single, ‘Notifications’ is one of her most unique tracks to date. Tenille Ja’Nae’s relationship experiences, feeling like she’s found the love of her life, to realise it was everything but, was devastating, even worst, not being able to escape this person’s dealings, and whereabouts which made it that much more difficult to get over the heartbreak of letting go. Hence, ‘Notifications’.
Drawing frequent vocal comparisons to Whitney Houston, India Arie, with hints of Adele, Tenille Ja’Nae’s soulful vocals and lyrics brings a bright, soothing, and catchy acoustic melody to other songs like ‘Familiar Strangers’. The stories within many of her songs are meant to draw the listener in to reflect on their own life experiences. It’s Tenille Ja’Nae’s hope that this storytelling approach to her music will be able to reach the masses and have a positive influence on the lives of others.
