Raindear is the moniker of Swedish artist and producer Rebecca Bergcrantz. Inspired by her musical and jazz infused parents from an early age, Bergcrantz felt compelled to create music for herself as soon as possible. Possessing a classical and jazz upbringing has given Rebecca an advantage many do not possess, and combining this with intoxicating electronic pop and full creative control has resulted in a stunning sonic direction that is unique to Raindear and no one else.
Her successes so far have seen her land numerous editorial Spotify support, and expand her audience into most of Europe, the US and even Japan with her viral track ‘Diamonds in my Chest’. The likes of FADER, Clash Magazine and Billboard have featured Raindear, as she continues to be a driving force from Sweden with unique brand of electro-synth-pop.
She starts 2023 with a brand new body of work, with her third album ‘Majestically Mad’, with the mesmerising title track ‘Never Let Go’ amongst a bombastic selection of groundbreaking tracks from Bergcrantz. Raindear says “Never let go is definitely not as sweet as the title and massive pop chorus first initiates. There’s a pinch of sarcasm, and the phrase “never let go” is sung with a twist. When listening deeper, you understand this song is about the difficulty of being a victim to your own avoidant and insecure attachment style, combined with “kick seeking” personality, and how this always makes you feel trapped and unsettled in relationships and through life in general.”
Other tracks on the album such as ‘Merely Bones’ showcase another side to Raindear’s ever expanding musical bow.
