After a breakout year in 2024 with hit singles like 23, Around You, Miss Me, UPGRADE, and Stupid Love, rising alt-pop artist Olivia Cox is stepping into 2025 with her most anticipated release yet Paris.
The 24-year-old Canadian singer-songwriter is known for her ability to blend alt-pop with mainstream sensibilities, and Paris is no exception. The track brings a fresh, electrifying sound that promises to captivate listeners and further cement her status as one of the most exciting new voices in pop.
“I fell in love with the beat as soon as my producer played it for me,” Olivia shares. “It was so cool and unique, unlike anything I’d ever written before. With Paris being such a different sound for me, I felt free to experiment and just have fun with it.”
Surprisingly, Paris wasn’t originally intended for release. Olivia credits her producers, Aaron Brennan and Daniel Seacroft, for recognizing its potential and pushing her to share it with the world. “It wasn’t until the guys told me it was too good not to release that I even considered it. I’m so glad they did because this song is a completely new direction for me, and I truly believe my fans are going to love it. It’s definitely my favorite song I’ve written so far.”
Inspired by Camila Cabello’s C,XOXO Magic City Edition and Addison Rae’s Diet Pepsi, Olivia wanted to create a track that felt playful and immersive. “I was obsessed with the way they used ad-libs and layers to add character to their songs. I wanted Paris to capture that same magic—something fun and cinematic, like reading a page straight from my diary.”
At its core, Paris is a dreamy, love-struck journey packed with vivid storytelling. “There are so many little moments in this song that take you on a visual ride—a girl with a crush, lost in her own world,” Olivia explains.
With Paris, Olivia Cox continues to evolve as an artist, pushing creative boundaries while crafting emotionally resonant, radio-ready hits. As she kicks off the year with this bold new sound, one thing is clear—her star is only getting brighter.
