Mariah Carey is officially back, bigger, bolder, and ready to reclaim her place at the top. The music icon has announced her long-awaited 16th studio album, Here For It All, set for release on September 26, 2025, via her own label, MARIAH/gamma.
She shared the news on Monday, July 21, with a cinematic teaser video posted across her social platforms. The clip includes a preview of the album’s title track, giving fans their first taste of what’s ahead.
The 11-track project will feature the chart-topping single “Type Dangerous” and a second new song, “Sugar Sweet,” which she teased on July 19. With lush production and her signature vocal brilliance, Here For It All marks a powerful new chapter for one of music’s most legendary voices.
This is Carey’s first full-length studio album since 2018’s Caution, a critically acclaimed release that debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 and topped Rated R&B’s Best Albums of the Year list. Caution featured collaborations with Ty Dolla $ign, Blood Orange, Slick Rick, and Gunna, along with fan favorites like “GTFO” and “A No No.”
In 2024, Carey revisited her ballad “Portrait” from Caution with a remix EP released through Audible’s Words + Music series. In an interview with Variety, she reflected on the emotional depth of the song and how the remix gave it renewed energy:
“It was really about the strong feelings that I had… To go from such a slow, very sad song to this uptempo, upbeat, still sad because of the lyrical content, but much less sad because we whooped it up. I really, really enjoyed the whole process.”
That same interview hinted at what was next, with Carey confirming she had already begun writing and selecting songs for a new album.
The lead single “Type Dangerous”, co-written and produced by Anderson .Paak, has already made waves. It debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s R&B Digital Song Sales and R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales charts and appeared on several others, including the Hot 100, Adult R&B Airplay, and Hot R&B Songs. Carey gave the song its live debut at the 2025 BET Awards, where she also received the Ultimate Icon Award.
On July 11, she followed up with Type Dangerous – The Remixes, a four-track EP featuring powerhouse names such as Busta Rhymes, Redman, Method Man, Big Sean, DJ Snake, and Brazilian pop star Luísa Sonza.
With Here For It All, Mariah Carey is not just delivering new music. She is once again showcasing her staying power and artistic evolution, reminding the world of her unmatched influence across generations, genres, and global stages.
