Rising singer-songwriter Lilly Bedard returns with her latest single, Not Everything Ends, a poignant reflection on love, resilience, and hope. At just 20 years old, the Jupiter, Florida native is carving out her own space in the alternative and folk-pop scene, blending poetic lyricism with evocative melodies that resonate deeply with listeners.
Currently a full-time college student and athlete at Babson College in Boston, Lilly balances her academic and athletic commitments with an unwavering passion for music. Inspired by legends like Stevie Nicks and Sheryl Crow, she began songwriting at 14 as a way to process life’s transitions. With Not Everything Ends, she takes a more introspective approach, embracing themes of healing and the lasting nature of love.
“Not Everything Ends is a departure from my usual style,” Lilly shares. “It’s a deeply personal song about moving from heartbreak to healing—finding love that feels meant to be. It explores hope and permanence, serving as a reminder that, maybe, just this once, not everything has to come to an end.”
The song almost didn’t make it past the writing stage. Lilly recalls the frustrating creative process behind it:
“This past summer, I was up until 1 a.m.—which is late for me—trying to put my feelings into music. But nothing was working. The chords and lyrics felt at odds, like they were fighting each other instead of coming together. I nearly scrapped the whole thing. Then, just as I was about to give up, I found the chord progression—the one that just clicked. I wrote the line, ‘You know it’s the right chord progression when hearing it play makes you cry,’ because that’s exactly what happened. From that moment on, the rest of the song poured out in twenty minutes, which never happens—especially not with a love song.”
For Lilly, this track represents a shift in her songwriting. “I think I’ve doubted my ability to write about happiness, and I know others have doubted it too. But Not Everything Ends felt like proof that I can write about love in a way that still feels authentic to me—and that people will connect with. I hope this song marks the beginning of a new side of my songwriting, one that explores not just the pain of loss, but the beauty of finding something that lasts.”
Describing the song as her “first true love song,” Lilly adds, “I wanted to write something that felt like a sigh of relief—a release of pent-up tension. A song for anyone who has experienced love after loss, for anyone who’s finally found a person who makes them feel safe, even in the hardest moments.”
With Not Everything Ends, Lilly Bedard continues to establish herself as an emerging force in music, weaving raw emotion into rich, immersive soundscapes. The single is available now on all streaming platforms.
