Zimbabwean-born artist Kuda-Kwashé has released his latest single, “Afua’s Kitchen (Hosted by Ne-Yo),” an uplifting Afro-fusion track that blends Afrobeats, Afropop, Rap, R&B, and soulful storytelling into a joyful celebration of food, culture, and human connection.
Filled with infectious rhythms, warm melodies, and vibrant energy, the song captures the sense of togetherness that sits at the heart of Kuda-Kwashé’s music. What started as a simple conversation about food and cultural identity soon became the inspiration for a record that celebrates the power of bringing people together.
According to Kuda-Kwashé, the idea came from a group chat where discussions about food and different national cuisines always sparked excitement. The song’s title also traces back to a lighthearted exchange with a Ghanaian woman who shared her homemade sauces and dishes on Instagram, which he frequently complimented. He later connected those experiences with Beyoncé’s famous comparison of great music to delicious food.
That moment of inspiration evolved into a song built around joy, hospitality, and shared experiences, values that are deeply rooted in his upbringing in Harare, Zimbabwe.
“I’ve always been good at bringing people together,” says Kuda-Kwashé. “I want to make music that moves the spirit, the soul, and the body.”
The release also received a significant endorsement from global superstar Ne-Yo, who publicly showed support for the track. For Kuda-Kwashé, the moment felt like perfect timing. Although the song was originally created in 2021, it has grown into something much larger, representing people from different backgrounds coming together through music and shared experiences.
“A sense of worldwide community, good vibes, good music, and good food, that’s a glimpse into how we live where I’m from in Harare, Zimbabwe,” he explains. “We’re loving and welcoming people, and hospitality is a huge part of our culture.”
Beyond this single, Kuda-Kwashé continues to carve out his own artistic lane with what he describes as “RapFro Soul,” a genre-blending style that combines Afro-fusion, soulful rap, emotional honesty, and cinematic storytelling. His sound draws inspiration from artists including Burna Boy, J Hus, Wizkid, Justin Timberlake, Timbaland, Drake, J. Cole, Tems, and Alicia Keys.
What makes Kuda-Kwashé particularly unique is the emotional depth behind his music. Alongside his career as an artist, he is also a qualified mental health nurse, bringing empathy and emotional awareness into his songwriting. Songs such as “In Those Eyes” and “Crazy” explore themes of healing, vulnerability, identity, and human connection.
His vision extends beyond music alone. Through his ambitious initiative, Hybrid Heart Experience, Kuda-Kwashé is creating a global platform that combines music, therapeutic conversations, live healing experiences, and community engagement.

With “Afua’s Kitchen (Hosted by Ne-Yo),” Kuda-Kwashé delivers more than just a song. He offers an invitation into a world where music, food, culture, and human connection come together, reminding listeners that some of life’s most meaningful moments are the ones we share.
