Kadeem Tyrell – KT.FM: South London’s own Kadeem Tyrell returns with his most ambitious and personal project to date — the highly anticipated 8-track EP, ‘KT.FM’. Marking a bold evolution in his sound and storytelling, the project sees Kadeem fine-tuning his identity as a modern UK R&B frontrunner, blending nostalgic ‘90s grooves with a fresh, genre-blurring perspective.
Featuring standout collaborations with Mack Keane and ESTA, ‘KT.FM’ plays like flipping through radio stations in search of the perfect mood. It’s a smooth, soulful ride through intimacy, vulnerability, and self-reflection — with each track tuning listeners deeper into the essence of who Kadeem is.
Singles like ‘One Time’ and ‘Garden of Eden’ built the anticipation, spotlighting Kadeem’s smooth vocals and his signature blend of emotional honesty and melodic finesse. The opening track, ‘Handle That’, sets the tone with a confident declaration of growth — his songwriting sharper, his delivery more assured.
One of the project’s biggest moments comes with ‘Where U R’, an uptempo, vibey collaboration with Mack Keane and ESTA — a pairing Kadeem had long dreamed of. It’s a sonic highlight, sitting comfortably alongside contributions from a top-tier production roster including Stephen Collins, Mike Irish, James Mwanza, Joel AB, Stevie Williams, Odaka, Subculture, and Aidan Carroll.
Born from a transformative trip to the U.S., ‘KT.FM’ is infused with new energy. During his time stateside — which included a performance at SXSW’s BBC Introducing showcase — Kadeem immersed himself in fresh collaborations and unfamiliar environments. The result is a project that feels expansive yet grounded, nostalgic yet future-facing.
Raised in Battersea, Kadeem draws inspiration from both local legends like So Solid Crew and global icons like Victoria Monét, Lucky Daye, Daniel Caesar, and D’Angelo. Peers like Ego Ella May and Mnelia continue to shape his ever-growing sound. And while his artistry has earned praise from platforms like Complex, Wonderland, Notion, and Clash, Kadeem remains deeply connected to his roots.
Following his heartfelt 2022 mixtape ‘As Time Goes By’ — a lockdown-born project featuring Shae Universe, Geovarn, and the legendary Omar — Kadeem spent 2023 releasing a string of strong singles, including ‘City’ and ‘Lover and Friend’. He also flexed his songwriting chops, co-writing ‘Nice Girls’ for Jaz Karis and Mahalia, further cementing his influence in the UK R&B scene.
What makes Kadeem’s journey even more compelling is the balance he maintains: working as a Royal Mail postman by day, and a rising R&B star by night. Funding his music independently, he retains full creative control — a commitment to authenticity that resonates throughout ‘KT.FM’.
With this EP, Kadeem Tyrell isn’t just making music — he’s curating an experience. ‘KT.FM’ is a soulful signal from an artist who knows exactly who he is, and where he’s headed next.
