Afrofusion artist Jay Suave has released his highly anticipated new single, That’s Why, out now across all streaming platforms. Blending Afrobeats, Afropop and Afrofusion, the track marks the first offering from his forthcoming project, Reminisce, and sets the tone for the next chapter of his artistic journey.

That’s Why was born out of the energy of Shatta Wale’s Like My Ting (Everybody Like My Ting), after Jay Suave’s producer creatively wove elements of the record into the beat. Rather than simply recreating the original, Jay Suave used it as a springboard to tell his own story, channelling his journey, confidence and the mindset behind his signature Suavay Steez. The result is a record that celebrates staying true to yourself while fully embracing your own style and identity, fusing Afro-inspired sounds with a distinctly personal perspective.

That’s Why was inspired by the energy of Shatta Wale’s Like My Ting (Everybody Like My Ting) after his producer creatively incorporated elements of the record into the beat. Rather than recreating the original, he used it as inspiration to tell his own story, writing about his journey, confidence and the mindset behind his Suavay Steez. The song reflects staying true to yourself while embracing your own style and identity. As the first single from the upcoming project, Reminisce, it sets the tone for what’s to come.

As the opening statement for Reminisce, That’s Why offers listeners a first glimpse into the world Jay Suave is building, one rooted in confidence, individuality and cultural connection. With more music and visual content forthcoming, the single lays the groundwork for what promises to be a defining project in his career.

Jay Suave is a UK Afrofusion artist blending Afrobeats, Afroswing and melodic rap into an authentic sound. Drawing inspiration from his life experiences, culture and modern African music, he creates records that combine confident storytelling with memorable melodies. Known for his signature Suavay Steez, Jay Suave is building a growing fanbase through consistent releases, engaging visuals and energetic performances.
