Heijmat – Echoes of Solace: Dutch alternative-electronic solo artist Heijmat releases the cinematic and vibrant new four track EP Echoes of Solace .

Continuing to push the boundaries between ambient, techno, and downtempo music through his distinctive style.

Blending lush analogue synths, subtle piano, tight electronic drums and elegant arpeggiators across the EP, Heijmat creates soundscapes which are at once emotional, experimental, and cinematic. As comparable to Jon Hopkins as it is to the likes of Bonobo and even at times Olafur Arnolds, ‘Echoes Of Solace’ highlights a more melancholic and less dance-inspired sound.

The artwork, designed by Heijmat’s wife, combines a Polaroid by their eldest daughter and a painting by Heijmat’s father-in-law, creating a tactile, organic feel that perfectly complements the musicality.

Speaking about the EP Heijmat explains: “2024 has been quite turbulent on a personal level, and I think that’s reflected in the music on this second EP. It’s quite dark at times, but always with hope going through and I must say I’m really happy with what came out of that musically.

I think the music is both intense and soothing, but most of all emotionally charged and authentic. It’s also a bit more organic than my previous work, and I feel that’s a direction I want to explore more in the future.”
