After a string of standout singles — American Dream, Dark Energy, Motorcade, Cha-Ching, and God In A Woman — Canadian indie-pop sensation GRAE returns with her boldest project yet: her latest album, 7 Minutes ‘Til Heaven.

TRACK HIGHLIGHTS:Grae – 7 Minutes ‘Til Heaven

7 Minutes ‘Til Heaven, is GRAE’s most fearless and experimental body of work to date — a genre-blending exploration of self-expression, rebellion, and transformation. Fusing shimmering synths, raw emotion, and unapologetic power, the album cements GRAE’s place as one of alt-pop’s most captivating voices.

GRAE, known for her dreamy vocals and 80s new wave-inspired sound reminiscent of The Cure and Joy Division, catapults her artistry to bold new heights with 7 Minutes ‘Til Heaven. Inspired by icons like Prince and Madonna, GRAE channels their fearless reinvention while delivering a sound that’s distinctly her own — cinematic, sensual, and deeply introspective.

“This album came from a dark time in my life,” GRAE says. “It was shaped by what I was going through, but also by the things I was witnessing around me. Some songs came straight from my own experiences, while others were written from different perspectives. There’s anger, sadness, and frustration — but also growth, clarity, and strength. I tapped into my feminine rage and power, and in the end, it’s something I’m really proud of. It feels empowering.”

The album features a rich blend of synth-pop, indie, and alt-pop. It is highlighted by a unique collaboration with Apollonia, who delivers three powerful spoken-word interludes. These interludes serve as emotional checkpoints throughout the album’s narrative arc.

Apollonia is an American actress, singer, and model best known for her role as Apollonia in the 1984 film Purple Rain, where she became Prince’s leading lady. She was also the lead singer of the girl group Apollonia 6, formed by Prince. In addition to her work with him, she has pursued a solo music career and appeared in various film and television projects.

TRACK HIGHLIGHTS:

  • “American Dream” – The bold spoken-word intro voiced by Apollonia sets the stage for a record that explores the glitz, darkness, and complexity of identity and fame.
  • “Dark Energy” – A night-drive anthem with haunting basslines and magnetic vocals, it’s the heartbeat of GRAE’s evolution.
  • “Cha-Ching” – Written after a trip to Vegas, this track pulls back the velvet curtain on glamour to expose its hidden shadows.
  • “Motorcade” – Inspired by Jackie Kennedy, this haunting ballad reimagines one of the most iconic moments in world history.
  • “A(Rouse)” – A pivotal moment in the album’s narrative arc, featuring Apollonia’s hypnotic voice challenging the listener’s expectations, serving not as filler, but as a crucial thread in the album’s immersive storytelling.
  • “Fantasy” – Perhaps GRAE’s most vulnerable song yet, revealing the tension between public persona and private truth.
  • “Scarlet” – Rooted in a close friend’s experience with betrayal, “Scarlet” weaves together fragments of real-life stories and emotions, showcasing GRAE’s ability to transform collective heartbreak into something deeply personal and universally resonant.
  • “God In A Woman” – A thunderous ode to divine femininity, drenched in confidence and raw, ethereal energy.
  • “Wet Dream” – The album’s namesake and wildest ride. With zero creative restraints, it’s an unapologetic moment of sonic liberation.
  • “Pleasure Breeds Fame” – Serving as the final Apollonia interlude, “Pleasure Breeds Fame” brings the album full circle with a poetic reflection that threads together past moments, closing the narrative with a theatrical yet intimate sense of finality.
  • “Hollywood” – The emotional closer, capturing the fragility behind fame and the bittersweet act of letting go.

Produced during late nights in Toronto, 7 Minutes ‘Til Heaven is GRAE’s most mature and ambitious work yet. Following the success of her 2022 debut album Whiplash — which marked her arrival as a breakout alt-pop artist — this new chapter sees her stepping fully into her artistic power.

Since her debut EP New Girl in 2019, GRAE has amassed 100 million streams, been named Apple Music Canada’s ‘Artist of the Week’, and earned praise from Billboard, Complex, Wonderland, and more. With hits like “Permanent Maniac” and “Soft” charting on Canadian Alternative Radio and Spotify’s top indie playlists, she’s become a mainstay in the modern pop underground.

“With this album, I really wanted to push myself as an artist — beyond what I expected from myself, and what people might expect from me,” GRAE says. “I wanted to feel free creatively, to experiment with wild production ideas, and write about more than just nostalgia, love, or that lingering teenage angst. It was about inspiring myself to grow, explore new territory, push boundaries, and step outside of my comfort zone — even when it felt terrifying. It’s definitely the most mature body of work I’ve released so far — I’ve grown a lot, both as an artist and as a person.”

With sonic threads that nod to DEZI, BENEE, Billie Eilish, and EMEI, 7 Minutes ‘Til Heaven is GRAE unfiltered, untamed, and unmistakably herself.

Garnering support from LADYGUNN, Billboard, CLASH, Ones To Watch, The Line of Best Fit, Atwood Magazine, When The Horn Blows, GRAE continues to captivate global audiences with her boundary-pushing artistry. Her new album, 7 Minutes ‘Til Heaven, cements her status as a rising force in alt-pop, blending vulnerability with fierce creative vision.

Listeners will recognise GRAE’s music from hit TV Shows like The Bold Type, The L Word: Generation Q, Workin’ Moms, Catfish: The TV Show, The Sex Lives of College Girls, Sex/Life, Virgin River, and XO Kitty, view sync disography.
